Hi IQ Users,
 
In this release (v0.9.26PreRel40):
  • Improved: More efficient grid updates (see Performance problems (yes))
  • Change: Minor rearranging of menu items, hopefully more intuitive to users
  • Upgrade UI components to ensure compatibility with evolving operating systems (including some UI cosmetic change to improve clarity)
  • Fixed: In live-search, the properties pane was not being updated as the user clicks on search results items
  • Fixed: Copy paste bug
  • Fixed: Backup path keeps being deleted and autobackup keeps being checked.
  • Fixed: Grid: When editing, paste was broken
  • Fixed: Options dialog: Focus sometimes jumped around
  • Removed: Tools > Themes. IQ now supports a single visual theme. Managing colors while supporting multiple themes was unnecessary work
 
(Portable only version for now. Installable one will be available in a few days)

BIG improvement in terms of performance**, it makes the "IQ experience" much smoother.
If/when the auto-assign/row/column equations management will also be tweaked, I'll see if I still need to clean my own stuff.
 
UI cosmetic changes are fine with me!
 
Fixes work fine too. Glad the quick search properties  pane sync was fixed! I completely forgot to mention it.

** Using the same field + equations, and I also put back my extra auto-assign equation:
 
- Previous action on 100 items  with 20 grids : 23.4 sec
- Now : 6.1 sec
 
So... in that situation that's almost 4x faster ! Your mileage may vary, of course. That said,  even with only one grid, and no extra  equation, it's faster : it was something like 2 sec.

Quoting myself... Yes, much smoother, in general! Not just when checking fields, etc.

UI changes are very good Pierre!
the menus are much easier to read, the 'move-symbol' when the mouse is over the # column (and the greying of the column) make things very clear 

Mixed feelings about some parts of the theme (in general I like it - in spite of not being a fan of baby-blue), but that's trivial and I'll pester you about it another time


Had some problems with copy-paste in Win.8.1 - I can/will check that later and report back in relevant thread
