Unexpected results pasting multiple lines into selected cell, selecting option #2 in the paste dialogue (create new items):

1) plain text, with a couple of paragraphs, that has been pasted into the HTML pane: option 'Text' was selected in the paste as dialogue
=> copy text from HTML pane,
this pastes into a single selected cell (not in edit mode) with no paste dialogue shown. See screenshot the <BR> tag is ingnored for some reason, but shown in cell when in edit mode:

note the above pastes properly (into item + two new items created) when pasted directly from text editor (as opposed to into HTML pane and then into item)

2) second example is text that was clipped to the HTML pane.
Here clipped from the manual:
select this text in the HTML pane

it pastes as this:

With this one I cant figure out how it decides to create a new item.
The HTML code looks fine, see:

Comments

To expand a little on the second example there (& I know this not priority!)

If I copy web-clipped text from the HTML pane and paste all of it into one item:
I see that I get a carriage return roughly every 15 words (it doesnt actually matter how the text was wrapped when copied from the HTML pane).

Hi Tom,

Both of these are fixed in v97a

Thanks for reporting !

There appears to be same or similar problem here again:

I copied/pasted this text (from [revisiting] the Paste Dialog)

#1 says: "Paste 1 lines..."  why one line, when there's two? This is confusing, why not just 'Paste lines ...' ? or even 'Paste line/s ...'

#2 the first part is unclear (to me) -- it sounds like all lines are going to be forced into the selected cells. The previous version was a bit clearer:

and got this:

(not sure if it a problem with the hash '#' symbol -- I was having problem with carriage return before '#' not being recognised, but that was coming from an obscure text manipulation utility (resolved by copying to/out of text editor). So tested with the above text.)

Havent tried this in a while but it not working.

Select one or more paragraphs of text from the forum here:
Paste into IQ choosing option #2 "..creating items if necessary".

This single paragraph created 10 extra items:
