I haven't used the Notifications Pane in a good while:

IIRC the Notifications Pane (with the 'Show mouse-over' setting) just worked i.e. showed content of whatever cell the mouse was over.

It no longer does this, but only shows relevant cell content when the Ctrl key is pressed.

(maybe this was an intentional change?)

Strange, it works just fine here. Right-click on the pane content and select Show Mouse-over. Works for grid cells and Properties pane

yes, as said, with mouse-over setting - I tried changing the settings to 'show selected' and back but no change.

I have only ever used the Notifications pane for the grid: I see it's not working at all here for the properties pane (no matter what setting and even if I press Ctrl key). I tried with focus in a filed with content, with mouse-over -- still didnt show anything

Portable / Win.7 x64

Just installed portable Pre2 on a second Windows 7 x64 machine, and it works as should for the grid and the PP.

Will double check over the weekend that the Pre2 is properly 'installed' on the other machine, and test a clean new portable version.

here's the current status Pierre -- always with "Show mouse-over" selected:

1) Overwritten portable install:

1.1) my file: as described above - not working with 'mouseover' selected: Notifications from grid cells do not show unless the Ctrl key is pressed;

No notifications show for the PP pane.

1.2) new file with content: exactly as above (1.1) i.e. not working

2) Clean / new portable install:

2.1) my file: as 1.1 above: i.e. not working -- PP not showing, grid cells only when Ctrl key pressed

2.2) new file with content: is working properly

3) Overwritten portable install on second machine:

3.1) my file (shared via dropbox) notifications pane works fine :-/

first I thought it related to a file setting -- something not shared by dropbox sync -- but that the new file also doesnt work in the overwritten install would seem to indicate something else too.

On the problematic PC, can you try to:

Close IQ
rename the Yourfile.ini file (same folder as Yourfile.sndb) to something else
Start IQ

Hi Pierre,

no change after doing that.

Note:
I realised that when I was creating a new sample file above, I was replacing an older one, so I presume the older ini file was being used:

So I created a completely new file using the clean IQ install -- it did not work correctly (need to press Ctrl key during mouseover to see content in notifications pane / PP not showing any content).

I'm happy enough to use it this way (I only using the N.pane for grid cells anyway), but if you've any other ideas, I will try them out.
