How do you move a grid from one a current IQ Base to a new one. I have tried exporting but I havn't found a way to keep my notes that are stored in the Doc pane.
It would be great if you could drag and drop a grid from one Base to another.
Thanks,

Hi,
Grids don't contain items, they only display them...
So what I think you want, is to copy items from one IQBase to another. To do that:
I selected the items in my first grid and did a Copy Special and Selected 5. I also tried 4 as well. 6 is cancel and I know that I don't want that one.
After selecting option 5. I went to my new IQ Base and clicked on File/Open but all I see is a list of files. I don't see create a new grid.
I do however see New Grid under Menu/Grid.
I selected a New Grid and inserted the name of my new gird. After my new grid was greated. I choose Edit/Paste Special. I did not have an Edit/Paste. And I pasted as HTML.
The Outline part of the paste did fill in but the Doc Pane was empty even though I have text in the original Doc Pane that the copy came from.
There really ought to be an Export and Import format which could export a selection of 'Items' along with all the metadata associated with those items and import the same format into a different notebase exactly replcating the items along with all the metadata those items had in the original notebase.
ConnectedText can export to an XML file and re-import the same XML file into a different wiki which re-creates the pages exactly as they were in the original wiki along with all the links even if the link target is now in a different wiki. ConnectedText allows inter project links.
Right Note has no such facility.
MyInfo has difficulties with this because the metadata needs to be the same for each notebase or the results can be different from what you expect. In theory you can just drag and drop but if the metadata is different in each notebase then the metadata which are not defined in the target notebase are not copied.
If there was a format which could be exported and imported without loss of metadata in InfoQube then this would solve jnmwarren's immediate problem but would also prove very useful for the exchange of information between InfoQube users.
I notice that there is already an 'export to XML' option but there is no corresponding 'import from XML' option.

Agreed !
As spelled out in this (outdated) page: 3. Export between IQBases, it is currently done through copy / paste

Pierre,
Any tips on getting Document Content across to a different database?
