I have two grids side by side, some of  sub-items in grid 1 has another parent in grid 2. Is there a way to refresh both girds at the same time? Currently I have to press F5 in grid 1 then focus on grid 2 and refresh again.

Comments

At this moment, both grids are independent in that regard and need to be refreshed separately.

Is there any shortcut for jumping from one grid to the other?

Tom I think I saw in another thread that there's a shortcut field you can set in the manage grid screen, which lets you jump to that grid.

yeah, I never think of using those - the ones you can set in manage grids - I should give it a go as I mainly only using a few grids
I often have same grid open in both panes - I wonder which one it goes for then - must try it out  :-)

But it would be helpful to have a shortcut that would allow one to jump from one pane to the other as well

As a workaround, I've been using "window list"  from a "&new menu" Menus-all commands.  You can then go alt-n 1 on alt-n 2 to switch grids easily.

I'm curious about this - the only thing I could find was post below by Pierre - do you disable the Tabs option - or how exactly do you use this?

If in Tools > Options > Program Settings > General : Use Workspace tabs is unchecked, then the UI uses the classic MDI interface, not the tab interface. You get the classic Window menu (tile, cascade, etc). I believe this button will give the list of windows

I tried disabling that option (requires a restart.)
I maximised the only open tab and can see no way of making it 'normal' size again [edit: Menu > Windows > Cascade]
When I open a second grid and maximise that, I then see the - [ ] X min/max/close to the right of the menu
OKay, if I look under Window which now shows in menu I can Tile Vertical etc.

Oooh, it's nice I can have three panes !!
Disadvantage is cant have same grid open twice (?). There seems to be a bug - I cant close grids (Menu > Windows > Close is greyed out as well)

If it didnt require a restart I'd probably swap over and back
