I needed something to keep track of what I'm working on on the manual, and thought why not use part of the discussion spreadsheet, and have it colloborative?

Any level of user could help via this vehicle--new users, put a comment column "I don't understand such and such of this page".

If you see anything missing in the manual, add another line, and call it proposed page or something.

Or "I'd like to see".

Or put "I have a tremendous amount of time on my hands, and massive InfoQube knowledge--is there anything I can do to help?"

If anyone's bored, they can copy and paste some url's.

And if nothing else, use it to get familiar with the google spreadsheet.  It has some quirks.

/edit 8-15-09 I renamed the thread to be more descriptive

Looks impressive Keith!
1) I miss having a widescreen there - do you know is there any shortcut for scrolling across the page?

2) I'm not sure how to comment - e.g. I commented in the glossary 'item'
175  |   Move to section 15? [Tom: certainly deserves a higher profile I think]     |    o 01. Glossary (working)   | etc.

3) Finally,
will the symbols  (+ ° * etc) at the beginning of the page titles not affect sorting?

I've been using two full-screens: first in firefire (F11), then view>fullscreen within the spreadsheet, then then using Ctrl+right arrow or Ctrl+ left arrow to navigate left/right.

Just right click in the cell and insert comment. It shows a tiny indicator once something's in there. The way you edited the cell prefacing it with Tom may be just as good. Let's just keep experimenting.

They probably will-I'll get rid of them. I'd done a quick copy and paste to get the info in.

Keith -

I'm afraid I was checking out sort & without thinking I sorted the manuals page A-Z by the page name column -
this means the ones that had no number are out of sequence - apologies about that !

to compensate I managed to figure out how to create a new page and made
if numbering incorrect please change,

thanks, Tom

Tom I put in another page in the spreadsheet, to make sure we addressed 0.9.24 changes so far. I copied from mantis any new features/modifications for 0.9.24 and put them in there. I'm striking through the text as I either address it, or verify nothing needs changed.

What do you think:_

I was wondering should/could we simply use the first comments column for all comments and queries?

I know I dont keep scrolling over & back to see if there are comments . .

first I had created a second 'Help needed' column to the right of the page title to make it more visible but now wondering should it just go in first comment column as requested above?

When something (query/comment/request) is answered/sorted simply strikethrough/remove highlighting/remove??

Great ideas. I already modified it per your suggestion. How about we strikethrough to start.  Also I put a conditional formatting in the comments column to turn the background text blue if the word "happy" appears.
