Pierre (or someone) can you explain to me the process by which IQ is smart enough to know that when email is sent to IQ that it should end up in the email view / grid. It's very neat & I'm thinking I can apply some of those principles to other uses.  Thx

Emails and other related fields are "system" fields. This assignment is currently hard-coded. Through auto-assign rules, you could use other fields if desired.

- All emails go in the Emails field

So the following fields are filled:
- EmailSender
- EmailRecipients
- EmailDate
- Emails is checked
- The email subject is put in the item field

-----------------------

Can you explain what other uses you would need?

It would be nice if there was an indication in software of when a field is a system field versus something that was just included with the demo data and can be deleted.  If I try to delete a system field will the program let me?  I am asking because I have deleted several fields that I assume are unnecessary and just for the demo data ("inbox" for example which I assumed was related to GTD), but want to make sure I am not deleting important fields.

Not @ the moment but it is so smart & neat, there have to be other uses for it.

Thanks, Tom.  The problem -- as I see it -- is that Pierre has not offered enough options to set up a secure server.  Gmail (as some other servers)  require authentication.  See below.  As best as I can determine, there is no place to enter this necessary data.

smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)
Use Authentication: Yes
Use STARTTLS: Yes (some clients call this SSL)
Port: 465 or 587

and / or

Also check off "TLS" under "Use secure connection."
