Locked Items

- Locked items cannot be deleted until unlocked.

Locked items are set in the properties pane. To find all the items which have locked checked, select the itemlocked field in the grid source.
Double-click "Locked" under Item info in the Properties panel will display it in the search grid.

Q. Locked items can not be deleted. However, they can still be edited (e.g. all text deleted). Is this on purpose? In comparison EccoExt does not allow deletion or edits. What about subitems of a locked item?

Importing from Tab Delimited Document not working

Submitted by srv181 on 2008/11/30 09:43
I am trying to import a literature list from a tab delimited text document.
  • I have followed all the steps described in the online help (btw: very good description).
  • Everything looks good in the preview, all fields are mapped correctly and contain proper values.
  • Then I say "Import" - things happen and in my grid:
  • Only the part of the information is imported

File size and one data file or many

I'm going to start dumping all of my data into InfoQube. What is the best way, one big file or several smaller ones? My main concern is how large can the file get before one would start noticing delays as the file loads? Is there a limit in file size with InfoQube? Can the gantt charts work with more than one grid in a file? I hope you are able to add the ability to use weekends with the gantt chart. Sorry if the questions are answered elsewhere I couldn't find them.

Creating new files,deleting grids

Submitted by Anonymous on 2008/11/28 08:06
First let me state that I love this program and have donatated and have a license. i have played around with the sample file to learn how to use the software. Then I decide to create a new file and much to my surprise the newly creted file is the same as the sample file. I was expecting a blank file. Ok then I go into tools database management and delete all items, so far so good. Then I go into grids management and start deleting grids that I don't want,I prefer to create my own grids. After deleting the grids and saving and hitting f5 to refresh. I start to create new grids to my surprise the ones I deleted are still there! sometimes it takes 3 times or more to really get rid of the grids! Why is this?

mht files and html data -- should they co-exist for the same item

Submitted by Armando on 2008/11/27 19:25
I don't think that mht files and html data should be able to co-exist for the same item. It can get really confusing.

It happened a few times where --  after deleting the  MHT link --  the old html content reappeared. IMO, once you convert to MHT, HTML should be deleted completely.

Split Screen Capability

Can I setup InfoQube to be in list mode and also show a "form" that has additional record information that belongs to the selected record in the list? This would be similar to the Ecco phonebook.

Secondarly is it possible to set up the fonts on the web site to be in Arial (or some sans serif font), like the Mantis site and the SQLN site, instead of Times Roman, I find the serif font hard to read for long periods of time. The font size seems to be a little on the small side, but that is probably just me.

tagged items --> should be able to remove an item from the tagged items list, without clearing the whole list

Submitted by Armando on 2008/11/27 01:16
I think I've said it already... And I know this system might evolve anyways...

But, in the mean time, I think that we should be able to remove items from the tagged list on a per item basis. Maybe with a icon in the item's context menu (just beside the tagging one)...  Or if the itemsTagged field was visible to users, and editable...

grid management window : grid creation can be challenging

Submitted by Armando on 2008/11/27 00:51
It's not always easy to create more than one grid in the grids management window.

Stuff that can (did) happen :

- The newly grid seems to copy another grid's settings, and switching between grid names doesn't seem to fix the situation... And the new grid actually looks ( to the user) like it's going to overwrite an other grid.
