"Paste each line into a separate item, creating items if necessary" doesn't seem to work.

Submitted by Armando on 2009/08/27 23:10
When pasting several lines (carriage return between each) in a grid, IQ offers 3 options. One is : "Paste each line into a separate item, creating items if necessary"

It doesn't seem to work anymore -- which is a pain since I started working on a new project where pasting one line at a time can get quite tedious.
[Edit : as a work around, possible to create items before pasting].

I tried pasting different excerpts containing several lines... But only the first line gets pasted... Seems like a bug. But maybe am I doing something wrong ? Anybody else can confirm if this is problem with IQ or... with me ?

HTML pane : loss/interchange of content in 2 different case (IMPORTANT)

Submitted by Armando on 2009/08/27 12:37
Oh no... HTML pane problems... :(

2 different things happened in the last few days. And they seem to be linked...

1- Several clips from the web (MHT) weren't clipped properly (I was using the firefox clipper). What happens is that the title (item content) is in the database, but nothing in the HTML pane.

digging further I saw that the clip was there, as MHT, in the IQ SNDB folder for MHT files. BUT the itemHTMLFile link is missing

Most of the time when I clip an article, if IQ pops up in my face -- as it always does when I clip to the database -- I alt-tab my way back immediately to firefox. Maybe does that sometimes disrupts the linking process???

Troubleshooting Firefox - Please post FF version you are using

Submitted by CodeTRUCKER on 2009/08/26 12:55
Hi,

I intend to try and troubleshoot the odd behaviors of FF outside of the IQ Forum.  I will be looking of the FF forums for similar behavior.

Everyone please post what version of FF you are using and a brief note of any errant behavior.  I will assume that everything is just peachy if you only post your version.

@KeithB - Are you still having this issue?

As for my entry...

Firefox 3.5.2 - No "Comments" text box on page load when posting or replying.

Text pastes in wrong cell after moving columns in grid

Submitted by Tom on 2009/08/26 04:35

Move column B to the left of column A - (now showing as | B | A | ) - select cell in Column A, paste some text -  the text is pasted in the cell to the left of the selected cell (even if the field is a number field).
Likewise,
moving a column to the right of another column - the pasted text then goes to the right.
Auto-Edit & Overstrike both off
Restart solves the problem

I just tested this with clean (portable) install and sample (empty) database, will add to Mantis later [done]

(sorry, unable to remove bold formatting)
EDIT: Mantis # 786 mantis.sqln

Necessity of Strategic Marketing

Submitted by CodeTRUCKER on 2009/08/25 20:23
Hello,

After having done some research into the subject of Marketing of IQ in the threads, I have seen that their hasn't been much (public) discussion.  Maybe more things are happening via the PM communications?  Owing to not seeing this broached specifically, I thought it might possibly be advisable to add it to the mix., so here we go.

Why?  Because decisions made on this (marketing) strata could have a direct impact (at least for consideration) on the development decisions Pierre has to make about IQ to drive development and our participation.

Let me use the subject of how wikis/WikiTags might be germaine.  Please see this post for reference...

Tom's request - improve wikitag selection

[edit 2010-02-12]
[quote=Tom]To summarise my requests (& bump)

could you duplicate the drop-down Wikitag selection from the Add New Item dialogue to the Wikitag field in the grid?
i.e.
1) each {wikitag} on a separate line
2) ability to select multiple tags (tickbox)

also:
3) sort tags alphabetically (not currently done in the drop-down Wikitag selection in the Add New Item dialogue)

How do I restore my HTML tool bars?

Submitted by CodeTRUCKER on 2009/08/25 05:55

Oops!    I have managed to make all my HTML tool bars disappear which I was intending to do just to see what would happen.  Well, right-clicking in the tool bar area and un-checking everything produced what I expected to see... no tool bars.  What I didn't expect was not being able to right-click to restore one or more tool bars!

Can anyone tell me how to make the HTML tool bars reappear?

Perhaps Pierre ought to include the following in his, "So you wanna be a beta tester" part of IQ's EULA?

[collapsed yes]

ACHTUNG!

ALLES LOOKENSPEEPERS!

Firefox won't let me post or reply due to no "Comments" field.

Submitted by CodeTRUCKER on 2009/08/24 16:54
Hi All,

Admitedly, this is probably not a bug with IQ, but since it is a "bug" with this IQ forum, I thought this the best place to ask for help.  FYI - I have already done the obligatory searches and have disabled every Firefox extension.

The "bug" is that when I try to reply to or author a new post I have no "Comments*" field to enter any verbiage?!?  I have to resort to IE7 to make a reply or post for help.

Has anyone seen this and/or offer any solution?
