Maybe Win8 & or IE10 oddities

I will add to this list as I encounter things that strike me as as strange
  1. As reported in other threads, I cannot post to this forum using IE10 (Armando reported the same issue)
  2. date field formatted <format> mm/dd/yyyy </format> displays as date + hours, minutes & seconds
  3. many IQ shortcuts aren't working. Anything w function key is a problem b/c on my laptop all function keys have to be activated w Fn + Function key
  4. <CTRL> + and - don't function to expand / contract in the outline

Coming up w the closest thing to Evernote sync for IQ

So the question is: what's the best scenario for using IQ on multiple machines w/o over-writing more recent data? Of course this is seamless with Evernote, Catch. I think this would be a worthwhile discussion. Simply saying use drop box etc is not sufficient. We should include work flows, i.e. how to set IQ to open, how to exit IQ, etc.

BTW, with Win 8 / IE10, I am unable to post on this forum b/c the message body input is not transmitted to the forum. I think Armando has the same problem.  I have not tried this on a Win7 / IE 10 machine yet.

Properties Pane / All Fields section

I wish the All Fields section would work a lot more like the Folders Pane in Ecco.

Ecco has an "Edit Folders" function that enables you to add / delete / rename / promote / demote / rearrange folders in place in the folders tree via the keyboard.    Right now it's cumbersome in IQ to add a field and position it right where you want in the field tree.  There should be right-click options in the field tree so that I can do things like "add field below at same level" or "add field below at next level right".

It should be possible to rearrange (promote / demote / move up / down)  fields by keystrokes just like it is done for items in the grid.

Also I was experimenting with some journal entries I imported from Ecco via CSV.

MS Office Web Components Issue

Submitted by d bartlett on 2013/03/09 11:56
Hi,

For a couple years now I have been using IQ on a laptop on which MS Office 2010 as well as MS Project 2002 are also loaded.  Yesterday I upgraded to MS Project 2010 and then unloaded Project 2002.

Now I cannot create Pivot Tables or Charts because I get the error message stating, "Office 2000 (and up) is not installed.  Install Office or download the 'Office Web components' from the Microsoft web site to view the pivot table".

I uninstalled and reloaded IQ but still get the same error message.  Office 2010 is loaded and functional.  I am not an expert software troubleshooter and don't know what to do to regain pivot table and chart creation in IQ.

Advice if possible would be appreciated.

thanks, Doug Bartlett

pressing Enter to start sibling item

When I am making an outline in a grid, and I press Enter to start a new sibling item below the current item - often the current item and the new item jump to a new vertical position in the window.  i.e. if the current item is near the top of the window, and I press Enter to start a sibling item - the current item may suddenly appear near the bottom of the window.  I have to scan the window visually to find my place again.  Very annoying.
