Field mappings for import from Google Calendar

Submitted by EveryWord on 2014/02/12 16:32
GCal2Excel.com is a potentially useful online tool for us while we're waiting for the enhanced Calendar w/ sync. It produces either an Excel file or a .CSV file from one or more Google calendar exports.

It's output is a simple file with only 5 fields; however, I don't know how the GCal2Excel columns should be mapped to something in IQ so as to make them appear in the IQ Calendar.

Can I get a little help?

synchronization with external files

Submitted by jimspoon on 2014/02/11 12:17
Any chance we could get some synchronization with external files and folders, perhaps like what there is in UltraRecall?

You could have an IQ item that is synced with an external file.  If you change the external file with some other program - these changes are synced into the IQ item.  If you change the item in IQ, these changes get synced to the external file.

The external file might might be a plain text file that has sections that correspond to various IQ fields attached to the item.

Or the external file might be a HTML or MHT file - whose contents might be put into the ItemHTML field of a synced IQ item.

An synced external folder could correspond to an IQ field.  For example, you could have a file system folder called SyncedToIQ.  There could be a corresponding field in IQ named "SyncedToIQ".  If you add a file to the SycnedToIQ folder

UniversalClipper not copying text from FF

Submitted by Tom on 2014/02/11 07:27

The universal clipper (UC) is not copying the selected text in Firefox here (Win7 x64).
A dialogue does open with whatever I previously copied in it, i.e. wothout selected text

I havent used the UC in a long time - I suspect the problem here is FF.
Can anyone with Windows 7 x64 and Firefox give this a try and let me know if it works?
Many thanks.
Oh yeah - my Firefox is version 27

Calendar "How To"

Hello,

Maybe this thread could be used to post tips, tricks, how-tos  etc. about the new calendar

This was copied from Pierre's post in the announcement for version 0.9.26 Pre-Rel 15 :

  • Click-drag to move around in the calendar

  • Select events and click-drag to move events

  • Shift-click-drag to create an event (or use right-click)

  • Double-click to create an event

  • Right-click to select normal or scrolling list display

  • Use mouse wheel to scroll the calendar when in scrolling list display

  • Click on the mini-calendar to select dates, weeks, months, multi-months

The New Calendar

Calendar looks great Pierre !!

Do you have a list anywhere of what's planned for it?
I havent used it much but straight away have a few minor suggestions and queries (some if not all are pretty obvious but I'll post anyway)
e.g.
  1. mini-calendar on the left only shows four months . I presume more is planned for that view? A full year would be nice -- a never-ending scrollable calendar would be even better

Hi IQUsers !

In the this release (v0.9.26PreRel15) :
  1. New: Items can show up at multiple places in the Calendar.
Ecco Pro users have long enjoyed this feature, whereby an item can show up in the Calendar for each of its date values. For example, a task could show for its StartDate AND its EndDate. Another example is a contact showing up for his/her birthday and wedding anniversary.

Word Wrap, Viewing and Printing All Issues

Submitted by d bartlett on 2014/02/05 16:54
Hi everybody and anybody,

I noticed when I upgraded from 09.26Pre-Rel7 (was stable for me so I stuck with it) to 09.26Pre-Rel3 that Word Wrap didn't function properly.

Now, Word Wrap activated will only display about 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 lines of text, but that's it.  The only way I can display all text is to click and sit in the text line with the cursor.  So I can only view one fully displayed text line at a time, then have to click/sit on the next line to view all of it, which reverts the former line back to 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 lines of visible text.

Also I used to be able to print all lines but now can only print the same 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 lines that I can veiw with Word Wrap activated.

Any ideas for viewing and printing all lines of text the way it used to be possible to do?

thanks
Doug Bartle
