Navigation difficulties in Live Search Grid

Submitted by Tom on 2016/02/24 11:01
Hi Pierre,
I only use the Scratch Live Search Grid occasionally -- I notice some quirks (using my own file):

1) Navigation problems using arrow keys
  • HTML pane is open
  • Search for something => Scratch grid opens
  • I click once in the HTML pane => then click in the Grid => up and down arrows no longer work for navigating items
  • Note: all items found had HTML pane content
  • I was able to reproduce this in sample file, also with items with no HTML pane content

2) Shift+F12 doesnt work to open the HTML pane when I'm in the Scratch Grid

Can't Read Source for Address Book

Submitted by David_H on 2016/02/17 20:42
I don't know when this happened but I'm guessing it's because I deleted a field named "lastcallnumdays" or something to that affect a few days ago, which I believe was part of the default filter for the address book.  I also deleted the filter out of the address book grid.  Now I cannot access the source for the addresss book grid.  I've changed the source to something else and changed it back to addressbook, still can't read the source, I get the message "error opening gird, check source criteria".  Which I've done...several times.

I know all the contacts are there, because I can still see them in other grids they also show up in.

Any suggestions?

Sorting Question

Submitted by David_H on 2016/02/17 17:10
I'm trying to use the default number field "order" so that I can manually apply a sort order to TLI in a grid.  Until now I have never used any sort functions, with the exception of sort ascending/descending which I use constantly.  When I enter some numbers for items using the "order" field, and then attempt to sort using that column, I don't know what logic is being used to sort, but it's not sorting as I'd expect.  I've attached a screenshot.

Why isn't it sorting by placing the blank fields first and then the numbers?  Or visa versa?  Why are the numbers spread out?  All the items are TLI.  Display mode is set to outline.  I've tried with and without context parents on, though I'd think that shouldn't affect it?

In addition to using the sort button in the screenshot, I've also tried just right clicking on the top of the column and selecting sort ascending.  Whi

Hi IQ Users,

In this release (v0.9.71 Beta):
  • New: Grid: Ctrl + Down Arrow moves to the next sibling. If last one and Shift is pressed, adds a new item. Similarly for Ctrl + Up Arrow
  • New: SQL Sync now supports multiple SQLSync files. If more than one is found in the IQBase folder, user is given the choice which one(s) to sync
  • Change: Grid: When a column filter is active, the dropdown now shows all items.

hi,

following Pierre's advice, I started using the portable version rather than the installed version. In fact uninstalled the installed version just to make sure. However the portable version has just crashed with the following message:

Inputting decimal numbers on a French language system

Submitted by gregory on 2016/02/13 09:01
My computer is set up to work in the French language, with French regional settings and an AZERTY keyboard. I can input numeric data from the numeric keypad in Excel without difficulty and the comma which is used as a decimal separator in France duly appears with digits after the decimal point.

I would expect InfoQube to pick up on these regional settings.

Share Your Unique Infoqube Uses Here

Is anyone else interested in sharing how you use IQ, giving as little or as much detail as you are comfortable with?  Here are a few things I'm doing with it.  I'm also including a simplified list of my grids and how I have them structured.  Some current uses:

1. I created a dedicated grid for buying a new home.  IQ shines above all other products in applications like this, because you can create as many custom fields as you want to track specific traits that are unique to a project.  For instance for this grid I've created number fields to track acreage, days on market, amount, checklist fields for all the traits I want and so on.

2. I created a master grid (first grid so it's easiest to get to) that lists all of my other grids under categories, and launches them via links.  This actually works much better for me than trying to find them in the tabs.
