Grid with Full Hierarchy enabled

I ctrl+drag TLI's to become sub-items.
F5 to refresh - the items no longer show as TLI's.

I never did come to grips with Hierarchy and tend to avoid situations like this - should I use another setting if I want to see these items as sub-items *and* as TLI's?

I think this is a query that has cropped up before, so apologies if I repeating it...

In hierarchy modes, the grid shows the parent-child relationships.

If you want a display purely based on field values, set hierarchy off

Thanks Pierre,

posts crossed.
I might take a look at that page again when I have time, and see if I come up with suggestions to make it a bit clearer for the confused

hmmm
remove hierarchy seems to be the answer
Is this logical? 1. Grid Display Modes doesnt show it clearly - to me, at any rate...

[Q.1] The first screenshot has a source of [DisplaySettings] - why is it in [square brackets]?

Would like to change the Fields filled (beside 1st shot) to "Contact, AddressBook, etc" (minus formatting)

Q1: Square brackets are required when the field name has a space (see Grid Source EditBox)

Thanks Pierre,
I'd forgotten that - I never leave spaces myself..
