Hi IQ Users,

In this release:
  • New: HTML Pane: Edit cursor position (caret) is now saved.
Editing large documents is now easier as moving from an item to another will bring you back to your last edit point
  • Fixed: Grid WYSIWYG editing: Font was sometimes incorrectly set
  • Fixed: Grid WYSIWYG editing: Content was sometimes not save correctly
  • Fixed: Grid WYSIWYG editing: Font and images were not handled correctly
    [EDIT]:
  • Fixed: enhanced visuals in v35 : makes click + drag & drop less responsive
  • Fixed: When more than 1 item was selected, on drag-drop, it was possible to drop on a selected item

Thank you for this Pierre. Quite a while ago, I recall that you were going to change the html editor to rtf. Am I remembering correctly? Are you still planning this?

Hi Jon,

Yes this is planned, but not in a near future. The current HTML editor is not great, but it does the job for now.
I've got more urgent things to add and fix !

Thanks for hanging it, 2015 is the year of v1.0 of InfoQube !

Happy New Year, everyone!

RTF is hardly the way of the future; nor is HTML. Neither of them permit the full expressiveness that a writer needs. As an example, most of us use InfoQube in part or in whole because of its outlining capabilities. Neither RTF nor HTML version 4 support outlining. HTML5 does – although for the moment very few HTML5 editor's make much use of it.

I do not use the HTML pane in InfoQube (which uses HTML version 4). That is because any work that I put into formatting text in the HTML pane is wasted because I cannot export it in order to publish it. For now, the work that I publish is created in Microsoft PowerPoint and in Microsoft Word - as it has been for many years. Once there is a good HTML5 editor, I may jump ship towards that. As Pierre hints, HTML 5 support within InfoQube is and must remain a low priority. I too would like to have RTF support… But that would be a distraction.

Instead, we all want to see InfoQube version 1.0 on the market and making money for Pierre in 2015.

Let's use InfoQube for what it's good at: structuring information, primarily in the outline view. That can, somewhat painfully, be exported into Word or PowerPoint via Excel. And that is good enough.

On my wall, I have a motto in large print. It reads:

"Distraction is a deadly enemy. Flee it."

I pretty much agree with you about how I use IQ. I do not use the html pane at all, I am more interested in IQ's outlining capabilities with columns, gantt charts, etc. I  But I remembered that Pierre had said that the html pane would change to rtf. This was quite a while ago. I am VERY interested in IQ's development and just wanted to know what was happening with this. IQ is so flexible that you never know how you may use it.

Hi Pierre & forum members. Happy New Year!

I'm very happy to see accelerated development for IQ; I know 2015 will be the year of v1 and that's veery exciting.

That said, Pierre (or anyone): what are the plans for IQ calendar sync w Google calendar.
Are there any thoughts of creating macros (or whatever) to facilitate the use of equations by making them less "techie" and more user friendly?

Thanks as always,

Hi Jan,

Happy new year to you too !

We had a major setback on the Google Calendar Sync front... In November 2014, Google pulled the plug on the API version we were using (2.0).
This means that the code needs to be updated to work with API 3.0.
Delays are expected of course, as I have many other things on my plate.

HTH !

That will always be a challenge in my opinion. Google can be capricious at times and Microsoft provides updates which break things for some software. This is why I either would keep the calendar local in IQ or do a Onedrive dance and be done with reliance on other parties. But that's just me.

The bugs I reported re different font and not saving (in new item scenario) seem to be fixed
Will confirm in relevant thread (WYSIWYG) after I've used it a bit more.
Thanks again Pierre
