Wow, that was quick!
Thanks!

Windows 8.1
Sony Vaio S Series 13 (SVS131E21L)
Ram:8gb, CPU: Intel i5-3230M, 2.6ghz

>Fixed: Improved keyboard support for the source bar (tab key to move focus) and fixed: Showing/hiding the source bar : focus doesn't go back to the grid (or properties pane)

the keyboard support is effectively better. Thanks!

There are still problems though : if one continues to tab to end of the source bar, the focus suddenly moves to the grid and tabbing moves from cell to cell in the grid... --  Normally the cycle should just repeat and the focus should move to the first button at the left of the source bar.

Then (after the tabbing moved the focus to the grid) pressing Alt+S effectively closes the source bar, but the focus disappears from the grid. Presumably, it moved to the source bar, but there,s nothing  to do there since it's closed.

Could there be a rule so that when the source bar is closed, the focus always goes back to where it previously was ? (So either the properties pane, the grid or the HTML  pane)?

Thanks!

Apart from a small display bug related to Gantt, it seems like a good release!

Gantt overview bar keeps reappearing at the top of the grid, even when its turned off. In fact, in certain grids, even after I close/reopen them, a white bar keeps reappearing, taking up screen estate . The white bar could also be related to the  sort bar; don't know.

Performance is slightly improved, except for properties pane related actions : if I check/uncheck a checkbox several times in the properties pane, there's now a longer delay between each chek/uncheck -- this is probably truer with a Boolean field that has an auto-assign or some equation.

Sorry, no Pierre. Work before play. Or testing.

 A few questions and observations:
  1. From which fields are the data based?
  2. Timeline starts in 1899.
  3. Right click in the header displays granularity choices, but how are you supposed to know it is there" Also not easy to select day/week/month/year.
  4. Navigating with the scrollbar and the << >> icons is frustrating for me. It is not precise and easily overshoots.
  5. What are the difference between timeline and gantt (which I use quite a lot)?

Hi Jon,

Answers to your questions:
  1. The Timeline is based on the same fields as the corresponding Gantt. You first define the Gantt parameters and can then switch to Timeline view
  2. Fixed in v0.9.26PreRel38
  3. You can click on the Overview to quickly position the chart (the overview is just left of the Day, Wk, Mo, Yr buttons)
  4. Fixed in v0.9.26PreRel38
  5. The Timeline is more vertically compact. Instead of having each item on a separate line, they are automatically arranged to optimally fill the are. The item text is also shown immediately to the right of the bar.
Grouping and filtering will be added to ease even more project / task management
HTH !

Yes, but the overview is not visible for me until I right click in the area. It will quickly vanish unless I am careful. Is the setting to keep this visible in timeline linked to the setting in gantt?

I'm a bit confused... in the Timeline view, the Overview should always be visible.
If the Overview Zoom buttons are not shown (grid properties > Gantt), you can right click (and hold) to display the zoom buttons to switch scale

On my end, the overview for timeline is not visible unless I right click and hold the button in the timeline header area. Upon release, the overview disappears.

Portable version with fresh install.

The area over the chart header is divided into the Overview and the Overview buttons (Day, Wk, Mo and Yr buttons to the right).
In the grid properties, you can set whether the overview buttons are visible or not. If not visible, a right-click on the overview will reveal them.
To center the chart, simply click on the overview area. You can scroll the view by grabbing the orange section and moving it left and right.

As you can see, the Timeline is a nice complement to the regular Gantt.
Compared to a regular Gantt, it is more focused on "what to do when" and less on the project structure.

HTH !

Yes, this looks great. But on my machine, the area over the chart is blank. I will re-boot my computer later to see if this changes and report back.

This is probably because it is set to 1899, a bug I've now fixed.
If you click on the white band, it does not show the chart ?

I'm wondering how the Timeline fits best:
  1. In a separate window, as it is in the current preview
  2. In the same window as the Grid-Gantt, but above or below it, much like the histogram.
(either as a Gantt "footer", or as a resizable section, like the histogram)
Any thoughts ?
