 Hi IQ Users,

In this release (v0.9.26PreRel43):
  • Lots of UI fine tuning
  • Better handling on high-DPI displays
  • Removed Tablet mode as it was not working well.
  • Removed Search toolbar. The Omnibox is now shown directly on the main menu. Users should delete their Search toolbar
  • Removed Grid Auto-Edit as it did not support scrolling with the cursor keys and was causing issues with the cursor (Blinking Text Cursor Rarely Appears)
  • Fixed: HTML Pane: Fixed an issue where the pane would steal the focus from the grid
  • Fixed: Grid: WYSIWYG editing: Fixed an issue where the text changes were not saved correctly
  • Fixed: Grid: WYSIWYG editing: Edit > Cut did not worked
  • Fixed: Grid: Changing the tree column would incorrectly show outline labels next to the tree, even if this option was not selected
  • Fixed: Grid were sometimes empty (Keep losing Layout)
(Portable only version for now. Installable one will be available later)

Hi Pierre
I wrote the below - but now see that the download I got yesterday (shortly after you posted this), while zipped in folder "InfoQube0.9.26PreRel43Portable.zip"  is actually:
Version 0.9.26Pre-Rel42 build 2015-02-17 14:35:46 Beta

I will try redownloading...

EDIT// second download is correct ...
ignore below - I'll post again if necessary

Minor but confusing issues:
in a 'clean' install, the omnibox does not show - but the old search toolbar does (!)
=> go to to customise>toolbars, there is a Searchbox toolbar listed - turning it on displays a very small toolbar with no entries....

It is unclear how to delete the old search toolbar:
(I dragged it to the customise dialogue)

Omnibox is in place out of the box and working well.
It seems to cover a lot -
will have to mess around with it a bit.

Thanks Pierre !

[Was in the process of moving so... couldn't keep up with the exchanges here]

Thanks Pierre.

I like the new UI!

Omnibox doesn't seem to work well for me. Maybe because of my customizations ?

- I can't find the Alt+/ shortcut on my keyboard. Need to press shift to get the "/"; probably that's why it doesn't work. (Other custom shortcuts don't seem to work.)
- When I type in the little text box, chose an item in the drop down, etc., press enter, the quick search grid opens, but nothing else happens.

Probably related : Ctrl+F opens the search grid, but instead of appearing quickly and empty, it appears slowly and full of items

To consider : I like to have my menus items on a vertical toolbar (to preserve screen estate), but the omnibox dropdown doesn't seem to accept that kind of positioning

I'll keep trying tomorrow!

Thanks again Pierre.

Just saw that it's possible to move it inside another menu. Maybe that's the solution for me. [edit : ooops.talked to fast : it doesn't work as expected there... Nothing happens at all when I type in the text box]

Hi Armando,
  1. Check your custom shortcuts and either reset them or remove CTRL+F from the search command
  2. The Omnibox is a text box and hence needs to be horizontal and visible. Also, I believe there should be one and only one Omnibox in your menus / toolbars.
  3. You can put in in any horizontal toolbar / menu. If you don't have any (!), you can have a small floating toolbar and set it to be just above the program title bar
  4. To see what the Omnibar is, and how / if useful for you, simply install a version in a fresh folder and play around with a sample file. You can open views, execute commands and search with it !
  5. The issue with the search dialog starting a search on opening will be fixed in the next version
HTH !

1- Got it to work after getting rid of Ctrl+F. Guess Omnibox is somewhat linked to Ctrl+F?
2 & 3- The floating toolbar will do it! Good idea. Thanks Pierre. Nothing like a bit of creativity.

Omnibox is a marvellous idea! Thanks Pierre. It really helps finding commands and stuff without going through the menus, etc.

5- Thanks!

Questions/comments :
- Some commands don't seem to do anything here. E.g. : filter.
- Some "commands" seem  to be section titles rather than  commands...? If that assumption is true, maybe it'd be good to add a "bullet" or something like that before those to better delimitate them.
- Maybe commands having to do with invisible text box of a hidden source bar could instantly reveal the source bar ?

Again, great work Pierre!

This is great news ! Yes, the Omnibox is an improved search. This is why I thought it should take on the CTRL+F shortcut
You are correct that a bit of filtering is required to ensure only valid commands are shown in the list. Will do

I agree with Armando and others who are full of praise for the Omnibox – this is a real time-saver. Thanks, Pierre.
