I pasted an image in the notes pane.  Later I came back to add notes below the image but it wouldn't let me.  Could not get the cursor to show up anywhere in the notes pane.

I started over with a new notes pane.  This time i entered some text first, then pasted the image above it.  Then I came back to paste some copied text below the image.  I selected a spot below the image.  Even though the cursor didn't show up, I hit "paste" anyway.  After a long delay, the text showed up but it was above the image, not below it.  And the text was locked up.  Once again, I can't get an active cursor anywhere in the notes pane.

I know we went through image issues in the note pane before.  Is there some problem with using copy/paste for images?

Follow up: it's worse than that.  My notes pane is locking up with just text in it.  I can't get an active cursor nor add or modify text.  When it was working, it was also doing double line spacing every time I hit return.

Thanks, Wayne

Edit > Paste works fine here...

Are you sure that Browse mode was not enabled ?
Also, perhaps you saved it as an MHT file...
Please report back the exact steps used to copy / paste the image

Regarding single vs double space this is set with Edit > Use DIV or Use Paragraph

Pierre,

I've created a bit of a mess that's causing my problems.  I thought that when I downloaded the new portable version that I was good to go from there.  I think what has happened is that my desktop shortcut was launching an old version of the program (rel 41).  I just launched the new version but now I've lost all my settings.  My toolbar is gone and all my windows are re-arranged.  What files do I need to copy to the new location to get my settings back?  Does it matter if it's the installed or portable version?

Sorry for the bother.

Both flavors are very stable, but some "complicated" setups worked better with the portable one

v41 is a bit old, and a recent user had problems when trying to upgrade. The menu system got confused as too many changes had been made, it seems. But you can try.

To copy your settings from the installed to portable check out InfoQube Program Install and Set-up

Thank.  I think I'll just set up things from scratch in the new version.  Now I see the omnibox!

Great (Omnibox) !

You can have both versions running at the same time to adjust settings / options.

Since these are very different versions, either open different IQ files or make sure you don't make changes to your file with the older version
(it should be OK, but I don't want to take chances..)

HTH !

Yes, as soon as I started using the correct, current version, the problem went away.
