v119 is now available for download !

Quite a few usability enhancements are included in this release including a new Find / Filter dialog (as announced here: Unified Find / Filter dialog), Back Links, and Copy / Paste of fields and tags from one IQBase to another 😮👍

In v119j:

  1. New: Find / Filter dialog: Use this dialog to perform most find and filter operations. Details here
  2. New: Find / Filter dialog: Show in Search Grid action now supports filters (enter fields and #tags to filter output)
  3. New: Find / Filter dialog: Search grid output now support entering an empty text search string as long as a filter is specified. Basically opens the Search grid with items matching the filter criteria
  4. New: Grid: Option for item vertical alignment (top, middle, bottom)
  5. New: Grid: GroupBy improved support for grouping by tags
  6. New: Grid: Paste Special now has a checkbox to save the format type
  7. New: Grid: Inline links are now supported for non WYSIWYG editor

For my understanding of how it works, are the Back Links commands only related to links found inside the document pane? I have items with hyperlinks in the item field, but they don't appear in this list. Nor are related items listed here.

Just got back from Business trip and instated PRE2. Great search feature. Many thanks. 

This is difficult to explain but I had it working in previous versions

How can I hoist whatever item  I choose then unhoist then hoist a different item without IQ remembering what I previously hoisted.

In other words

1. Select

2. hoist - work on item 

3. Un-hoist

4. Move to different item

5. Hoist

When I choose to view all shortcuts IQ says

Cannot find the c:\program files\infoQubev119pre3Portable\users\myprofilename\All.shortcuts.tab file

So is All.Shortcuts.tab file a file made by IQ or windows?

Also what is the format of the shortcut keys string so I can make my own shortcut file.

v119Pre7 is now online

Nothing major but improved startup (less flickering). Fixed a few IE11 related issues (though the recommended version is still IE10 -- Tools > Options > 1.4.1)

 

Whatever you did to reduce flickering has also made moving (stuff) around the grid a good deal snappier for me, IQ just seems more responsive overall (scrolling etc.). Great stuff!

Pierre, Thanks for the improvements!

#4. I have problems pasting Outlook items again in this version. In v 119f there was an option to paste as Outlook item. That has disappeared. What should I paste it as? I tried link and HTML but neither worked.

#6. What is Sync doing?
I couldn't find much info about it in the manual for the Item Editor (https://www.infoqubeim.com/drupal5/node/4461)

Indeed, the clipboard code change broke this. I'll issue a quick fix today [Edit] Done. Patch updated with this fixed. Same version number [/Edit]

Sync: Yes, that doc pane needs updating (it is no longer possible to customize the menu), and Sync is not described. It is however self explanatory... panes show the item properties (values, tags) of the item in the Item editor. If not, panes show the focused item in the main UIs

v120 is progressing well (Events linked to Google Calendar now show Reminders and can be modified inside IQ)

Meanwhile a few minor bug fixes and one new feature were ported back to v119

In v119j:

  1. New: Grid: Editing by Single-click and Double-click: Now sets the cursor at the click position
  2. Fixed: Grids: Could not use Tag names with a period ( . ) as a source or filter
  3. Fixed: Ctrl+PgUp/PgDn did not work for non grid tabs (Next / Previous Tab commands)

 

Thanks Pierre for this new feature in 119j!

However, it doesn't work perfectly for me as the cursor jumps forward about 3 characters.

For example, create an item 123456789
When I put the cursor between 5|6 it jumps to 8|9
If I put the cursor between 6|7 it jumps to the end (after 9)

1. I still have problems with the cursor position with legal labels. For example with a label 10 and item text "1234", the cursor jumps to the end when I single click the cursor between 3 & 4 (10 12|34).

2. I am not sure how to use the new ## feature. If the cursor is at the beginning of the item text  and I press ##, the Tag list is shown. However, after I select a tag, the item text now starts with a single  #. If the cursor is at the end of the item text nothing happens except that the item text is appended with ##.

I'm quite flummaxed as to what new feature number 1 (New: Grid: Text editor now supports outline labels (WYSIWYG editor)) really as or how to access it. Could someone help out? Thanks!
