Would it be possible to have a 'Clear' button on the tagged items heading in the properties pane?

I know you can right click the area with the tagged items and select clear list, but it seems to be an operation that is used enough to maybe make a button worthwhile.

Comments

Yes, that would be "logical" -- UI wise.
Did you know that if you just right click on selected  item and click "Tag  items", it will automatically clear the list and these to the list ?

Actually I was quite surprised the first time I did this. I was expecting a button labeled 'Tag Items' to add to the list of tagged items, i.e. to me it's a 'checkbox' type of operation, not a 'radiobutton' type.

this seems fairly unintuitive to me.
Because I didnt know that, I started a separate page in the manual about tagging - it doesnt seem to be documented fully elsewhere yet.
The page is just a stub with a couple of links so far:-

I think I agree with that.

IMO this is how the 3 main options for "tagging" (collecting) should  work :

1- Tag selected item(s) : would add the items to the list -- I don't think that there's a real need for another option that directly adds items and replace the tagged list content.

2- remove selected item(s) from tagged list : same as usual
3- Clear tagged list : same as usual

And maybe I'd add the "Add tagged items as sub-items" to the sub menu of the tag selected items.

Opinions ?

Yes, that would be my preference as well.

About the remove thing, maybe there could be a remove button on each item in the tagged items list in the properties page, and a remove all button on the heading of it?

I added some text to the tagging page - please check it out (everyone!) - especially because I hardly ever use tagging :-)

Hi Pierre, you said it was done, but I can't see it. Is it in a future version ?
