Currently only the item portion of a selected item uses the selected items back color, dark blue in my case. If I recall correctly there is an option, that I can set, that will make the whole row the "selected item back color" not just the item. Can someone tell me where this option is located, if this is correct.

If you do change to this setting be aware of changes to the way selection and editing items works:

b) With Full Line selection, you can click anywhere on an item to select it. ~ Note that Full Line selection is very mouse-centric. Many navigation keys will not work in this mode: you have to double-click in a cell to edit - F2 and Tab key dont work; you cannot select an individual cell etc.
For a discussion of pros and cons of this setting see the forum thread [How do I] Simply Copy Text from a Field ?

I haven't been able to reproduce this issue Tom, can anybody else confirm or explain in more details ?

I believe it was confirmed - but a good while back.
Will try it out again to test

the only thing that doesnt work here is the Tab key - that may be by design? I dont know
Arrow keys navigate from one cell to the next

I thought I posted in this thread but it might have been when I was experiencing problems.... Anyway : I can't reproduce the problems you mention, Tom. Not even the Tab key one. When I press tab there's a little rectangle moving from cell to cell, as expected. Isn't that what you see ?

as said no problems except with the tab key -
this is using clean install/sample file and I see now that the reason it doesnt work is that Use Tab key to indent is selected by default. So it's not a bug.

Is that an unusual default selection?
Maybe not, I'm not familiar with office software so it could be a well known shortcut...

The other problems were two years ago and can safely be buried.

I see. Using the tab key to indent is fine. I use alt+arrows instead so it liberates Tab... Tab is useful to navigate through the read only fields in the grid as arrows will skip them . Anyway... So if Tab to indent doesn't work in full line selection mode, I guess that there is a small bug there.

You misunderstood there Armando

I guess it's logical enough:
if the tab key is being used to indent - and clicking anywhere on an item selects it, the tab key will just indent.
So, no bug.

I never use the Tab key to indent, and was testing full row selection in a clean install which has that option turned on by default (which is what I query above)

Ah ! Ok. I didn't understand that it was a clean install, hence the meaning of your question. Yes, it seems like a weird default. I must admit that I didn't even know/remember that "tab to indent" option.

true,
when you copy & paste a link here it (often) doesnt work
this will work - I see it's 2 years old now & pretty out-of-date & Pierre says the problems no longer exist so read with a pinch of salt and try for yourself!

You can click on the # field (first column on the left) - this will select the full item which will give the desired effect.

Or you could add a customised shortcut to Menu: Item >Select - and use that to select the item, again full row will be highlighted
