How do I exclude a certain source from a Grid

Submitted by assari on 2020/10/25 07:03
 Hi,

I have a Grid which I use to export items from Infoqube (via copy paste)
I currently use a criteria filter viz "itemmodified >(now-7)" to filter via date
The source for the grid is currently (allitems)

I would also like to exclude items from a particular source.
I tried "(allitems) AND (NOT [food])" but that didn't work.
At the moment I'm using a workaround of creating a special column and using "[columnname] is null" as the source filter

Thanks for the help

UI Improvements Suggestions

Hi IQ Users !

Following a recent discussion on Outliner Software (here)

one of “IQ”‘s main problems, together with its abysmal GUI / ergonomics

and other comments from a significant number of users, I'd like to hear suggestions of how some aspects of the UI could be improved, while of course, keeping the soul of what IQ is, a powerful and flexible information management tool

I have my own list of areas that need improvements, but before influencing anyone, I'd like to hear from you, regular IQ users.

Pasting code / longer text problems

Submitted by LeftEccoForIQ on 2020/10/15 02:58
While trying to paste the AHK code quoted at the end of this post (used to execute scripts on special button combinations on my mouse - aren't gaming mice great productivity enhancers?) into a single grid item, I ran into some problems:

1. The dialog offering to paste as a single item does not open, instead the code is pasted as several items with different amounts of lines included in each item, i.e. IQ does not put each line into a separate item but groups them together by its own logic.
2. The items created are in reverse order, i.e. the top of the code / text ends up being the bottommost item rather than the topmost one.
3. I then selected all the items that were created and ran the 'delete items' command. Deleting multiple items at once seems to be a very slow and hard job for IQ even though it's not much more than a page of text in total (though that's probably an irrelevant factor).

Manage grids sort order

When the manage grids dialogue is opened, the grids should be sorted alphabetically.  Mine come up scrambled every time.  Then when I click on the header to sort, it sorts them in reverse order, so I have to sort them again.

Just a couple of extra unnecessary steps every time I go to the grids dialogue.  I know this has been discussed before.  Seems like we used to have a "save sort" option but I don't think it worked.

Form fields should not move

Submitted by WayneK on 2020/10/11 15:06
Fields in the forms pane should remain stationary.

I wanted to re-assign items from different grids to other grids using forms.

To make this easier, I moved the forums I will be using to the top of the view so I can find them.

But every time I switch grids, the fields jump around and I lose sight of the fields I want to use.

There's probably a reason for this but it kind of defeats the purpose of quickly assigning items to fields if the field targets keep jumping around.

I've noticed other times that the form fields scroll and move around on their own as I do other tasks.  Seems like they should stay put unless I move them but there may well be a reason I'm not thinking of.

Besides losing track of the fields for item assignment, the constant scrolling and jumpi
