Search Results highlighting in the HTML editor as-well

Submitted by DONLEONE on 2017/08/18 12:43
i know the current work-around to see search highlighting from the HTML editor text
via the Live Search results with the "Show Details" enabled.

but even then, it would be sooo great
when browsing through the search results
to then see the highlighted search results
in the HTML editor as-well

so that i could actually see them in their full textual context !

There are many other tools that can already do that
like Ultra Recall, MyInfo, Zoot etc.
(but they lack many of the other IQ features in return)

but i think for a Superman-programmer like Pierre
this should not really be that difficult to implement.

Pivot Chart to auto-update somehow ?

Submitted by DONLEONE on 2017/08/17 19:51
so far it seems i always have to manually press that red exclamation mark "!"
in the pivot chart toolbar, to achieve the desired chart update.

But is there a way to maybe automate this,
so that when i select for example the chart tab,
that it auto updates the chart instantly?

F5 also does not work.

thanks a lot !

and PS: i guess there is also no way so far,
to copy a nicely custom colored scheme unto another chart,
or at least to duplicate the same view unto another pivot chart,
because i had to always re-create the look for each chart individually.

thanks!

Gantt Menu

  • Overview: Show / hide the Overview. The Overview is a re-sizable summary area on top of the Gantt. Provides quick scrolling. Buttons may also display as preset Gantt scales
  • Histogram: Show / hide the Histogram. The Histogram is a pane below the Gantt. Provides resource usage type information, in bar graph form
  • Non-Working Days: Toggles the display of days marked as non-working. Non-working days are shown in grey
  • Critical Path: After defining task dependencies, this command will highlight (in red) the tasks which determine the project completion.

In the Properties pane context menu/s:
'Field Properties' via fields in the All Fields list and in Forms does not work
Nothing shows.

It does work via the context menu of fields in Item Values and Item Properties

extract some text from one field and put it in another

Submitted by jimspoon on 2017/08/10 11:29
Just curious.  Say I wanted to extract some part of the text from one field of an item and put it in another field.  Would it be possible within Infoqube to do this by using some sort of string functions (left, right, mid, len) or a regular expression?  As a column equation?  Or with some vbscript code?

Can not drag the "group by"ed column header back to return to sorting mode

Submitted by seanlu21 on 2017/08/10 05:41
in my IQ ( ver 0.9.980 , i can drag a column to 'group by' it and drag it back to the column headers to return to previous sorting mode.
but in my colleagues' IQ ( ver 0.9.100 ) , i did the drag to 'group by', but I can not now drag it back to column headers row.

is it a bug ?

Database connection via LAN is SLOW when used by another PC

Submitted by seanlu21 on 2017/08/10 01:27
Now I try to let my colleague in my office to work on a same Database shared in a FOLDER via LAN.

This FOLDER is actually site in a External Hard disc attached to my Windows 10 PC. I work it very fluently without any problem, but it is very slow and will hang and wait for long time to show a list of choice in a popup field.

The database, though is not small, it contains I believe 6,000 and more items.

Can anyone share with me his or her experience as how to make the speed faster for my colleague to work on my LAN shared Database ?

His computer is also new one with 6GM Memory and windows 10 system.

Many thanks.

Applying hierarchy functions to TLI

Submitted by gregory on 2017/08/09 11:59
I wonder if anyone has found a good way in which to carry out hierarchy calculations at the highest level in the hierarchy of items appearing in a grid? What I would like to be able to do is to sum together the values of a given field for items which are not hierarchical children, but are instead top level items TLI.

The specific application is that I have a field called Effort. I would like to be able to sum together the various values of Effort so that I know what my overall Backlog is.

There is already a Visual Basic function available in InfoQube:
