Properties pane

Submitted by Jon on 2014/07/24 14:11
Hi Pierre:

Is it possible to get the properties pane to stop scrolling to a new location every time I make an entry in all fields? The return to thee top is counter-productive and disorienting. I know this has been mentioned before and I think it was supposed to be fixed.

I can buy a boat anchor if that would help.

Thank you.

Newbie problem with Field Item and Checkbox for Done

Submitted by Gerard on 2014/07/23 06:44
Hi,

Short introduction: I am a newbie. That is to say, I have been interested in IQ for about five years, tried it quite a few times, but the learning curve was just to steep for me. Also I was too occupied with work to be able to invest a lot of time in study. All the same, I could see that it is a very powerful piece of software.

Recently, somehow, It suddenly all fell into place. I could see what it is all about. Maybe because I had been playing around with Ecco, which I did not know before, but which is so similar.

It was probably not wise, but I started to move all my current work and projects to IQ. Not wise, because though I get the basics, all the advanced stuff is a bridge too far yet. Well-known problems, as I found out in the forum, such as disappearing items because of Source and View settings, manual sorting of items, and other stuff.

Version 0.9.26Pre-Rel29a is now available !

Hi IQ Users,

In this next release (v0.9.26PreRel29a):
  • New: Grids: If multiple items are selected, opening the editor (F2 or Shift+F2) will update all items (before, only the focused item was updated, to act on multiple items, one had to use the property pane)
  • New: Grids: HOT tracking/hover of the rows/items. Set tracking color in Tools > Options > General > Grid. 0=disabled.
  • New: Grids: When clicking on an email field, if multiple emails are found, users can select which email(s) to send to
  • New: Gantt: 3 Task link modes: None (Visual cue only), Use Task Dependencies and Locked Relationships. Currently, the only supported dependency is "Finish to Start". Others will be added soon.
  • New: Gantt: Can now toggle the visibility of links
  • New: Field Properties: Auto-assign rules can now be on separate lines (no need to use the '|' separator).

[FIXED] Manuel Refresh Alters Grid Source Setting (smth to do with sorting on custom field?)

 Hi All,

I'm getting back into IQ after a very long hiatus, and I'm really enjoying it so far. However, here is one issue that keeps coming up, and I am wondering if others have seen this:

I have a grid, let's call it MyGrid, and the source for the grid is "MyGrid". However, upon doing a manual refresh, the source information switches to undefined, so that all items in the database appear in the grid. Then I have to manually reconfigure the grid info so that the source is only "MyGrid".

Does that explanation make sense? Is it a known issue? I haven't yet pinpointed exactly what the conditions are that lead to this happening, but I'll see what I can figure out.

Thanks,

Lucas

EDIT: See comment below describing how to produce one instance of this behavior.

IQ loops on field defined using SQL SELECT

The background to this post can be found in a very much earlier post, http://www.sqlnotes.net/drupal5/index.php?q=node/684&page=1 - [node:684,title="Is it a bird or is it a plane"]

All I am seeking to do is to classify items. This is not at all the same thing as categorisation – these days, more popularly known as tagging.

Item links

Is this working right?

1. Select an item that has sub items. Note that I have tried this with the item expanded and collapsed.
2. Copy the selected item (not the second choice that copies the sub items too).
3. Paste the item as a link.

 I have two observations.

1. The pasted item does not appear until I manually refresh the grid. I thought that was a thing of the past. But worse, refreshing the grid collapses everything an I have to find where I was. Auto update is on.

2. The paste operation inserts the sub items too. If this is normal, why the second copy choice? (selected items and their sub items)
