Problem editing items/fields in properties pane ?

Submitted by Armando on 2011/04/18 21:50
In the properties pane :

F2 selects current content, and there's no way -- except by pressing shift f2 -- to be able to type without erasing content. (It's been like that for a long time I believe, maybe since the beginning. Had it in my list but ... :) )

Not sure if that's by design or not... But it's not very intuitive IMO.

F2 should function like in the grid : enter edit mode an put cursor at the beginning of data.
If one needs to select+erase the whole content --> ctrl-a or simply press delete when focus is on data (without being in edit mode).

Preserve concurrent sorting/filtering modes in multiple instances/windows of the same grid, after a refresh.

Right now, it's possible to have at least 2 opened windows/instances of the same grid with 2 different filter sets and 2 different sort text box filters sets. Refreshing any grid (F5) keeps the settings without reverting to the last active grid sort/filter set. Which is great.

Would it be possible to have the same flexibility but with the sort bar and grid filter too? i.e. : the sort bar and sort text box + the grid filter & the filter text box could be used "concurrently" in 2 different instances/windows of the same grid.

E.g.: in one instance of my inbox grid I'd use the sort bar to sort, and in a second instance of the inbox grid, I'd use the sort text box. Refreshing one or the other after making modifications (i.e. : changing the grid filter) doesn't revert to the other's sort settings.

When "Add item" dialog is NOT on autoclose: after pressing the add item button (alt-a), the item text should be "auto selected"

(Add item dialog (ctrl-n or win-n)  NOT on autoclose : after pressing the the add item button (alt-a), item text should be "auto selected" )

That would serve 2 purposes :

1- give feedback to user --> item has been effectively entered into the dB
2- allow the user to automatically type to create a new entry.

If others are interested, I'll add it to mantis.

HTML panes should automatically close when mouse click anywhere in the grid, w/out putting any item/field in edit mode (M)

Renaming NextTaskID Problem

Submitted by davet on 2011/04/15 09:52
Pierre,

I tested 25Q1 and still have the problem that NextTaskID (renamed to Successor) will not generate a number when creating a task dependency. So, I did some more investigation and found if I change the Name (not caption) of Successor back to NextTaskID, then the NextTaskID works okay. So, the question becomes how do you prevent the user from doing what I did?

Also, If I enter an End date < Start date, IQ allows this. I thought that was fixed once...but now not sure. See screen capture below.

BTW, I created a 4.8 MB video of these problems and could not upload it. I tried several times. In the past I have had upload problems here, but after two or three tries it worked. This time it did not. I don't know if this is a because you have limited the upload size in Drupal or it is a server problem.

Print preview problem

When choosing "selected items and columns" I see that some items (the ones that are deep in the outline do not appear indented as they should. Instead, they are LEFT justified. Without reference to the outline number, I would think that these are TLIs. I cannot detect a pattern. Most items are correctly positioned in the outline, even others that share the same level as these anomalies. What is happening?
