V2 import problems with Ecco

Submitted by Jon on 2011/07/29 10:52
1. Import entire Ecco file.

2. Import concludes

3. Go to Add Grid

4. All Ecco folders that were imported are surrounded by brackets Thus Tsembaga appears as [Tsembaga].

5. IQ will not create a grid containing a bracket.

Is it just me or are these recent releases less stable? They also seem to contain new or past bugs.

Crashes with V2

Submitted by Jon on 2011/07/28 13:58
Maybe it is my setup. I have not tested this version on any other computer.

I am experiencing frequent crashes (IQ just disappears) with this version. In addition to my previous post, I seem unable to open a grid after creating a new file. Also, import from Ecco does not work at all. I try to import all items from an open Ecco file. Nothing imports.

File | New | New from blank crashes IQ V2

Self explanatory. I get as far as naming the file, the click open. IQ just disappears.

EDIT: OK, I found the culprit. Do a fresh install. The first time IQ opens with no file loaded. I remove the html pane by closing it (never use it). Now, try the steps I outlined. See? No IQ. I can successfully create a new file IF the html pane remains open. I can then close it.

please include updated offline help with each release

Submitted by reesd on 2011/07/27 10:56
Hi Pierre,

As part of your build process for new releases could you please also build a new offline help and include it? It's a shame to see the hard work people are putting into the wiki not making it into the hands of the user. And now that F1 brings up a help file that is 100 times faster than the online site I am sure that is what most people are using.

can't close Advanced Find window

Submitted by reesd on 2011/07/27 10:35
In 0.9.25V I can't seem to close the Advanced Find window, even restarting IQ doesn't get rid of it.

If its detached it doesn't close period - nothing seems to work - hitting close, hitting escape, clicking on the toolbar icon, or checking auto-close and doing a search.

If its attached then I can close it with the X, but it pops right up again the next time I change grids.

I never even use the thing, I just hit the wrong key combo. I was trying to get auto-search with its weird Ctrl-F3. I've fixed my key combos now so I will never launch advanced find again, but I still need to get the darn thing closed....

Thanks,
d
