[FIXED] Drag/Drop file link: settings not remembered

Submitted by Tom on 2015/11/24 11:08
EDIT//
confirmed fixed in pre-rel 62

Creating file links via drag n drop - settings are not remembered (in particular 'Create a Windows shortcut')

I always get the popup when dropping files onto a grid.
I havent used this for a while -
today, I ticked 'Create a Windows shortcut' and deselected 'Always show this dialog'
The next time I dragged files to IQ, new items were created without making a windows shortcut, i.e.

How to rapidly create new items?

I frequently need to create large numbers of blank items (eg 40-50 at a time).  I usually do this by hitting return but the process frequently bogs down and is way too slow.  There's a substantial delay after the insertion of each blank item, and I end up sitting here watching the cursor slowly work its way down the screen to catch up with the many returns I just entered.

Is there a way to create a big block of blank items instantly?  In Excel, if you select 10 rows then click on "insert row", it'll insert a block of 10 rows.

Clipper Question(s)

Submitted by WayneK on 2015/11/22 18:33
In Firefox, I want to add the clipped item to the current grid but when the "add item" dialogue comes up the "Current grid" option is grayed out and can't be selected.  I can only save to the inbox.  I went through Options, the Help File, etc but couldn't find a solution.

New grids created with the "manage grid" dialog creates malfunctioning grids

Submitted by Armando on 2015/11/21 16:07
Had to change the previous title which was : "Add/remove columns" doesn't work well.
The problem isn't with add/remove columns, but with grids created with the "manage grid" dialog.

With new grid created through the manage grid dialog :

- newly added columns are stacked and can't be moved up/down.
- grids don't retain their columns [edit : it actually depends. See next post]
- grids aren't created with the default set of columns identified in the field properties dialog.

Note however that new grids created with the grid tab context menu option (New grid) work properly and columns are retained + appearing normaly (not stacked).

Lost grid (see details) after changing a form while its column set was applied

Submitted by Armando on 2015/11/21 16:05
- My "task" grid was loaded
- I changed the column set using a specific form
- I saw 2 fields I wanted to add to the column set so I decided to edit the currently applied form "column set" (using the form editor).
- After editing the column set in the form editor, I refreshed the grid and all items disappeared from the grid and they never reappeared in that grid.

I tried changing the filter, closing and reopening the grid, repairing the DB, compacting, etc. But the grid would always remain empty, whatever filter was in the source bar.

Recreating the grid from scratch solved the problem

NOTE that NO item was lost. Only the grid.

Calendar (bug/s)

Submitted by Tom on 2015/11/18 08:59
Hi Pierre
been trying  out the Calendar it's working great, and looking great

I have what I presume is a display bug:
  • set the display to 2, 3, 5, or 7 days
  • click on a month in the mini-calendar, or select more than a weeks worth of days
  • the view remains in the 'column' format but shows either the month or the number of selected days -- note that according to the toolbar, the view is now @31 days
  • if I click on the "31" button in toolbar, it will show the month as expected

Copying single item cell misses the font formatting and other HTML tags

Submitted by Armando on 2015/11/16 14:44
This doesn't seem to happen all the time, not sure why. But it does most of the time.

1- select an item cell with font formatting or other HTML tags (like hyperlinks)
2- ctrl+c to copy
3- create an other item and paste (ctrl+v) : the text is there, but all HTML tags are lost.

I've checked various settings on my side and can't find any correlations.

Anybody can confirm that?
