intermittent cell copy problem

intermittent cell copy problem

Often, I'll select a cell, copy, and IQ will either show me the copy menu (and it shouldn't as I'm just copying a cell, not a full item), or it copies the cell content with  the column/field header

e.g. I wabt to copy "@computer" from the contexts field. It should just copy @computer but it copies:

Contexts
--------
@computer

No idea why it does that. I tried to figure it out but...

Can't apply any color formatting inside cells anymore. Need to use the pop up editor.

Can't apply any color formatting inside cells anymore. Need to use the pop up editor.

- Select a word in item field
- click on the item color button to apply highlighting  to the word: the whole item is colored.

there might be other problems with other formatting types.

HTML Pane Storage

I had a past thread where I asked some questions about this and I hate asking the same questions all over again, but I just spent 15 minutes look for the thread to no avail (as mentioned in another thread, the forum could use some better search options).

I am starting to clip more and more HTML pages into IQ.  Would it be possible a include a page, perhaps with recommended best practices, in the online manual that explains the conditions for when HTML gets stored in the database versus linked to as a file?  I find it confusing because it seems inconsistent.  As an example I just clipped a large article with many pictures, I thought the clipper put the HTML in the SNDB folder and linked to it.  Yet when I look at most items I've clipped, they are nowhere to be found there, so they must be being put in the database?

I would like to keep the database as small as possible and want to make sure I'm not setting up

Forum Search Options

Pierre, I know you have your hands full, but are there any better search options that can be enabled for the forum?  For instance, the simple ability to search only thread titles, or specify the user who's post you are searching for in addition to the search string?

Thanks

HTML Pane Anomalies

Installed 9.88b and immediately ran into problems using the HTML pane.

1) My text expander wouldn't work (used to insert dates etc).  Rebooted InfoQube and it started working, so maybe not a big deal.

2) What's happened to Bullet List key commands?  Didn't it used to be alt-arrow to indent, outdent?  Doesn't work now.  Instead, I had to hit return to outdent and tab for indent.  The second might be correct but the first can't be because it obviously conflicts with hitting return to start a new line.  (If the line is empty, it indents; if there's text, it starts a new line.  So you can't outdent if there's existing text).

3) CTRL-C, CTRL-V doesn't work for copy/paste.  Nothing happens (whether text or an image).  Does work if you use pulldown menu.

4) Continuing with copy/paste: why don't we have these commands in the right-click c

Hi IQ Users,

Following the excellent suggestion of user David_H, I created a Youtube channel. I'll post some when I get some time but you're all encouraged to contribute too !

I hope this, and UI improvements will help make the transition to IQ a smooth process !

Command line arguments

Command line arguments allow you to start InfoQube with certain parameters. The format is:
  • InfoQube.exe /param /param2:test
To start a program with command line arguments, you can:
  • Create a Windows shortcut
  • Create a batch file
  • Open a command window and type manually type the command
  • Use InfoQube or another program launcher
InfoQube supports the following command line arguments:
  • /File:FileName
Automatically open a given filename (unless Shift is held down during startup)

  • /Password:YourPassword
For password protected files, will attempt to open the file with the supplied password. Needless to say, this is not a very secure way of doing...

  • /User:UserName

Program Settings and options

Use Tools > Options to open the dialog. Focus is initially in the filter box. Enter text to filter (e.g. font):

Hint: Sometimes the option is referred to by its number (i.e. 1.1.5), which is a column to the left of the option name. To see the option number, hover the mouse over the left edge of the dialog and click to resize it

Options are shown in a tree window. Most are self-explanatory. Shown here are those that require more information:

Add Item Dialog Brings Main IQ Window with it by either Shortcut or Mozilla Create Link

Submitted by ethanrox on 2016/12/10 05:31
If the main IQ window is not minimized from within the program or clicked in the Taskbar so it hides, then launching the Add Item to IQ Dialog brings it to top which is not very desirable behavior.

Example:
1. Focus on IQ Main Window->Alt+Tab->Firefox Browser->Create New Link->brings back IQ Main Window
2. Focus on IQ Main Window -> Minimize/Click the Taskbar Window to hide->....->Just The Add Item to IQ Dialog.
