[fixed] Outline labels misbehaving

Submitted by Cyganet on 2020/05/18 17:38

Hi,

Outline labels seem to be a bit wonky in v0.9.115e build 15/05/2020 17:10:56. I see three things that are odd:

  1. The prefix outline labels for the legal style aren't visible in the grid (see screenshot)
    outline_label_missing

  2. In the "Manage Outline Labels" window, right-click sometimes fails to bring up a menu to create a new label style.

  3. When defining a new label style, the prefix for the second level isn't being rendered correctly in the lable manager, nor in the outline (see screenshots). Perhaps this is the cause of issue 1?

Can you please fix these?

Thank you, as always!

Field for date of next event recurrence after 'done' date

Submitted by LeftEccoForIQ on 2020/05/17 15:54
For a recurring event in the calendar that repeats, say, once every week, if I mark it undone and again mark it done each week, the 'Done' field will be updated to the current date. Now I would like to show a field as a column that would display the date of the next recurrence of the item after the 'done' date, i.e. one week later (or just a couple of days if I marked it done a few days late). How can I do this? Many thanks!

Hyperlink Text Formatting

Submitted by WayneK on 2020/05/17 13:59
Question / suggestion: is there a way to format hyperlink text other than the text color setting in options?

I'd like to be able to apply: 1) back color; 2) font settings (italics, underline, font size)

Couldn't find anything in the manual.  Seems like my links originally had underlining but now it's turned off somehow.

Universal Clipper have the "Panes" button default to ON, showing the panes buttons (Tags, Fields) when you open it.

 Hi,

One of the many things I like about InfoQube is when you use the Universal Clipper, it gives you the option of adding that item to "Tags" and "Fields" when you clip it.  I hadn't noticed this when I started using IQ until I got curious what the "Panes" button did, I thought up until then it just changed the pane of the clipper window to something else.  Since then it's something I use practically every time I clip something.

I'd like it if there would be at least be a setting to default it to showing the "Tags" and"Fields" buttons.  It'd save me from clicking the "Panes" button every time.

With the release of IQ Outliner, I think it would be good when people are trying it and use the Universal Clipper that they can see that those choices are available right off.

InfoQube for beginners: Writing an outline

Introduction

Hello and welcome! Are you new to InfoQube? I'm a newcomer as well, and I wrote this guide to help someone like me who has no previous experience with InfoQube get up and running instead of getting stuck on the learning curve. InfoQube can be intimidating because it can do so much. It's easier to start by doing something simple and getting a feel for how it works.

Here is a step-by-step guide to writing, organising, formatting and exporting an outline in InfoQube. I use the keyboard a lot - we're in the middle of writing an outline after all - so this guide is full of keyboard shortcuts. There are often other ways to do the same thing (menus, toolbar buttons, right-click, other panes) that I have skipped in this introduction.

Grid filter, can I exclude items with a certain text/word in the name?

Submitted by lbw2112 on 2020/05/16 16:42
 Hi,

I'm trying to learn InfoQube better and know i can do this through fields, but I want to know if it can be done in filter.  I did read about Filters and everything but nothing I was trying was working.

I'm trying to create a Grid Filter to not include Items with a certain word in them.  I've tried a few things but none are working so I don't know if  I just don't have the right syntax or if I'm just doing it plain wrong.

This is what I have-

Journal entries mostly with Item names like this:                               Journal 20200516 Saturday, May 16, 2020.
I have supplementary Items with just the word at the end like this:   Journal 20200516 Saturday, May 16, 2020 Supplementary

I have a grid containing all,Journal I

Appearance of the connector lines in the hierarchical outline

Submitted by dderkits on 2020/05/16 16:34
This is a relatively minor cosmetic change, but I think it would make the appearance of the hierarchical outline a bit more intuitive. The attached before-and-after images show the change, which is subtle. First, the angle bracket (>), which is present when an item has subitems, is moved to the first line of the item (rather than aligned to the middle, as seen with items that wrap to multiple lines), and the line that connects the angle bracket to the bottom-most subitem is moved to the last line of that subitem (rather than aligned to the middle of that subitem).
