Hi IQ Users,

In this next release (v0.9.26PreRel32):
 • New: Google Connect dialog to connect to your Google Account. Use Tools > Options > This Database > Google Sync. Enter address and password and click Test to test the connection and to retrieve information on your calendars.
 • Fixed: Grid: Changing the font does not update the properties pane
 • Fixed: Grid: When wordwrap was disabled, the item height was not calculated correctly (see Grid sizing in HD - ATT Pierre)
 • Fixed: FireFox Clipper: Web Clipping Problems
 • Possible fix for Delete not working in HTML pane (sometimes)

And, as usual, enjoy another 90 days of free trial !

Not quite sure what to make of new calendar sync functions
The connection to Google calendar is successful
IQ recognizes all my calendars in Google
IQ seems to sync only recurring items
when I add a one time only test appt it never shows up in IQ
When I create a new dated item in IQ & choose option to show in calendar, IQ does not do it.

But on the POSITIVE side, it's beautiful
the grid spacing is solved & I have my  cursor back when working in the grid.
Thanks, Pierre.

Thanks!
Did not test the fixes as they didn't apply well to my situation.
I did try the Google Connect option and it detected my calendars; I guess that's it for now.

Hi Armando !

Yup, to be able to provide bug updates, I'm going at it in small steps for the Google Calendar sync:
 1. Test Connection
 2. Retrieve calendars
 3. Retrieve events
 4. Sync non-recurring events from Google to IQ
 5. Same but 2-way sync
 6. Sync recurring events from Google to IQ
 7. Same but 2-way sync
Steps 1 and 2 are in the last version. Working on bugs and step 3 now.

Concerning the calendar (bug, it seems) : mine shows year 1899 when I open it. Clicking on "today" on the date bar doesn't do anything and selects a full year even if first clicked on "1".

How many users tried the new Google Connect dialog ?
Is it working fine for all ?

I'm now moving on to retrieving events, so I'd like to know if there are issues so far...

Pierre,
I don't know what the expected behavior is but this is my experience:
Enter GMail details, click Test
Dialog box appears to say I have 5 calendars
2 of these are my own and I have read/write access to them.
Names of the 2 Calendars.
Click OK, and back to the Settings screen, click OK.
That's it, no change (yet) in IQ Calendar, no change in the IQ list of "My Calendars"

 Pierre,

The IQ to Google Calendar connection works
IQ confirms I have 12 calendars but doesn't seem to do anything with them, i.e. under "My Calendars", nothing changes.
IQ seems to import only recurring items
IQ does not import single entry items
IQ calendar does not update to indicate a new recurring item
IQ calendar does indicate time of day graphically
Not sure that IQ syncs to recurring items in any of the other than the main calendar

@John and Jan,

This is perfect. As stated before in this thread, version v0.9.26PreRel32 is at step 2 of the sync process:
I'm going at it in small steps for the Google Calendar sync:
 1. Test Connection
 2. Retrieve calendars
 3. Retrieve events
 4. Sync non-recurring events from Google to IQ
 5. Same but 2-way sync
 6. Sync recurring events from Google to IQ
 7. Same but 2-way sync
I'm working on step 3.

Hi  Pierre, I don't want to dampen your enthusiasm, forward motion or to rain on your parade but

If by #2 you mean that IQ is retrieving all of one's calendars, then that's not happening here as I described, i.e. IQ recognizes that I have a bunch of calendars but doesn't retrieve any data from them nor does it display the names of those calendars under "My Calendars.

If by #3 you mean IQ does retrieve single events, I agree but IQ seems to retrieve recurring events BUT from the MAIN MENU ONLY, i.e. #4 but not from my other calendars

IQ is retrieving the calendar names and attributes and shows then in a dialog box. That is the current extent of the connection.

IQ is NOT retrieving any events as of now. This is the next step.

Pierre, or anybody who knows the answer,

I have downloaded vs. .32, and also vs. 31, in portable. In both versions the calendar is rendered in a very simplistic way and the calendar toolbar is missing the button which toggles horizontal scrolling. I can not find the way to get the calendar to appear correctly.  I have a thinkpad  T430i with Windows 7 professional and 64 bit computing. What's going on? This used to appear correctly on other computers, but they were 32 bit.

Here is a screenshot. As you can see, it's nothing like the illustrations in the infoqube manual.

Hi,

I see the confusion. 6 months ago, the Outlook-like calendar module was changed to a more dynamic one but the documentation has not followed.

Most of the features have been reproduced, but some (such as reminders and event color) are still to be done.
Checkout Release Notes, searching for Calendar to see the evolution and status.

As soon as the Google Calendar sync is complete, I'll work on completing these.

A quick search gives me these entries concerning the new Calendar (in chronological order):
 • New: New Calendar: Can now add / modify / delete events
 • New: New Calendar: Can have multiple instances of the calendar with different views (day, week, month, etc.)
 • New: Calendar: Drag-drop items from a grid to the Calendar to create events. The event text is "Appt for ItemName" and is added as a sub-item
 • New: Calendar: Show Time Scale toggle. When set to off, events are shown as a single line. Similar to other calendars "Month view"
 • New: Calendar: Changing the Time Scale width show/hides the Time Scale
 • New: Calendar: Click on the Time Scale alternates between 4 display modes
 • New: Calendar: Events outside the current day view are shown in the top section, with all-day events. This way, events are always visible in the calendar.
 • New: Calendar: Press CTRL key while moving / sizing an event to disable snap to time grid (currently set to 15min increments)
 • New: Calendar options are now integrated into Tool > Options
 • New: Calendar: Current time marker now shown (similar to Google Calendar)
 • New: Show in Calendar / Remove from Calendar. Select one or more items. If selecting dates from a date field, will use that field. E.g. Can quickly add DueDates to the calendar
 • Fixed: Calendar: Zoom in/out toolbar button now enables zoom in/out of the calendar
 • Fixed: Calendar: Date filter toolbar button is now enabled
 • Fixed: Calendar: Numerous other bug fixes
 • New: Calendar: Use cursor keys to navigate in the calendar. Left-Right moves 1 day. Up-Down moves 1 week. Press Ctrl key to move by 1 week / month respectively
 • New: Calendar: Show/hide date filter toolbar added. Setting is saved. This way, users can use exclusively the mini-calendar pane if desired.
 • New: Calendar: Option to show the Today button (Tools > Options > This Database > Calendar)
 • New: Calendar: Option to show the year scroll bar (Tools > Options > This Database > Calendar)
 • New: Calendar: Option to specify the maximum number of months in the mini-calendar pane (Tools > Options > This Database > Calendar)
 • Fixed: Calendar: Changing the recurrence type is not saved
 • Fixed: Calendar: Closing the Calendar does not hide the date filter toolbar if no other window is open
 • New: Google Connect dialog to connect to your Google Account. Use Tools > Options > This Database > Google Sync. Enter address and password and click Test to test the connection and to retrieve information on your calendars.
