When entering an outline or plan, you tend to promote/demote items in the tree as you're organising it.  The result (see right column of screenshot) is some being 'in the grid' and others being children because of which level you 'initially inserted' them at (root or as a child of another item).  Eg 'effort estimate' was inserted at root level then moved to become a subitem so it has the flag but shouldn't.

This will probably make grid based search/filter results unpredictable.  What is the best option to make this intuitive for users?  My thoughts:

- This flag could change immediately whenever you promote/demote it (probably best).
- Could have an option that runs through the current visible items, setting the flag to true for 'root' items and clearing it for 'child' items. (less reliable)

Thoughts?

Dragging and dropping when sorting by anything other than # or ‘item’ gives confusing results.  Should it be disabled in these cases?

If you try to paste a bulleted list from Word and choose 'paste all into one cell' it does this (though of course its all stuck together).  If you tell it to separate them, you get the bullet titles but not the actual text of the bullets (see screenshot)

when:

1) i copy an item with subitems as XML

2) go to the location i want to paste the item

3) press ctrl-v

 

the item always ends up at the end of the grid. I then need to drag it to the desired location. How do i paste the items at a particular location ?

Adding a custom colour doesn't retain them for next time.

 

And if you go to edit one, you get the standard palette rather than the custom one- to get back to the custom palette you must first overwrite your custom colour by clicking one of the default ones, and start again.

In Manage Fields, the "Caption (in grids)" field doesn't seem to appear anywhere.  Should it be a popup?

I haven't been through all these but a couple of comments:

 

a) In HTML Export, the save and preview buttons work on the 'Use Settings' tab.  Although they are still visible on the 'Use Template File' tab, they do not function.

b) On the first tab the 'use html style bulleted list' checkbox results in the ItemHTML not being shown.  Is this intentional?

Maybe I'm doing it wrong but I find the following:

 

a) Split items does split the item at the cursor but the second half doesn't get a number in the # column. is this intentional?

b) Join doesnt seem to do anything- I select the whole row of both items, is that what I am meant to do?
