Time Tracking

 Hi Pierre,

I have noticed that you have started adding time tracking to IQ.  I have always wanted to have a system that can track the time of different projects and that also can track my daily productivity and tell me how much time I have left to schedule, duration

time, overage time.  There is a program that is called "Time To" which is a great timing program for daily to do lists but sucks for projects.  If the sophistication of "Time To" could be added for daily and project lists, then it would blow the lid off of my

productivity and would be extremely valuable.

thanks

HTML Pane not working in Win 8

Submitted by Tom on 2013/02/01 04:35
This was reported today by David:
I can't type anything on the "HTML" screen at all.  I just started using windows 8 and I tried both versions (stable and pre-rel 7).
and was also reported by me in this thread IQ and Windows 8 (?)
(I'm starting a new thread because that one is cluttered with non-relevant windows 8 experiences)
Quotes:
=======================
I just started actually using IQ in Win8 today.

Unfortunately I am unable to edit the html pane in any way, in any file -
I presume this is to do with Internet Explorer 10.
=======================
Well I tried all the different modes - from IE7 to IE9.
IE forgets the mode on restarting - I presume that's a bug (but I dont know).
So, all I can do is select my mode. Start IQ. Test.

I'm afraid none of the modes worked that way.

What do you use for time-tracking & how do you use it (esp. IQ)

What do you use for time-tracking & how do you use it?

Within IQ, I'm especially interested in whether I can use/show time-tracking items between the grids and the calendar (Note: I still know next to nothing about the calendar).

My own history of time-keeping with IQ:

I worked on drawings for longer periods of time:
 • each drawing would have an item/link
 • I would make a sub-item for each time period spent woking on that file
 • Other work I would group, e.g.

Duplicating a grid in pre-7

Submitted by Jon on 2013/01/21 16:59
Not sure about this, maybe it is me.

I'm trying to create a duplicate grid named 2013 based on 2012. The dialogue is ticked to open the new grid. It opens with the 2012 information. I now want to change my source to 2013, but cannot. 2013 is not listed in the dropdown (either in the sourcebar or manage grids). If I manually enter 2013 as the source, IQ reports an error reading the grid. Re-starting IQ does not resolve this. HOWEVER...

If I follow the above steps but clear the option to open the grid, 2013 appears on the dropdown and I can successfully change the source. Why is this?

Dragging gantt bars in pre-7

Submitted by Jon on 2013/01/03 13:39
I'm trying to create and manage several projects. So far everything is going well with regard to IQ. However, I seem to be unable to accurately or reliably resize a gantt bar. I have to rely on typing or selecting the dates from TaskEnd or TastStart fields. I also noticed that I have to refresh the grid manually to see the results in the gantt chart. Also, after selecting dates as described above, any attempt to re-size the gantt bar results in an unwanted date. What's up?

eliminate "jumps" in vertical position in grid

Submitted by jimspoon on 2012/12/28 01:24
when I am making an outline in a grid, and I press Enter to start a new sibling item below the current item - the position of the current item and the new item often jump down from the current location down towards the bottom of the grid.  Quite disconcerting.

Same thing happens with split (ctrl-shift-s) operations.

There shouldn't be any change in the vertical positions of the items in the grid when I press Enter to start a new item.

using PreRel7, was also present in PreRel5, which I had been using until just now.
