VBScript examples or starting guide?

Submitted by Airways on 2012/10/19 16:10
I am very interested in creating some external VBScript programs to manipulate the data in my IQ database. I understand that this should be possible even while the IQ program is running - although I will need to refresh any grids I have open to see data (similarly to how it would work with multiple users on a LAN for instance).

Are there any example programs, or could you provide a brief introduction on how to setup and connect to the DB? I tried opening the DB in Access and it didn't load anything, so I'm not sure how to inspect the contents to determine what I can query against.

Coming up in v0.9.26Pre-Rel4

Submitted by Pierre_Admin on 2012/10/11 18:30
Here are what's coming up in v0.9.26Pre-Rel4:
  1. Improvements to the Event UI (including a summary for repeating events)
  2. Find and Replace in the HTML pane
  3. More robust method to save grid column list
  4. Fixed: Picking a particular day in New Event dialog causes crash
  5. Fixed: MHT files not always indexed, hence not found in searches
  6. Fixed/Change: In Fast Search, pressing the Enter key now forces the update of the search results list. Pressing Enter again shows the list in the SearchResults grid. Before, users had to wait 1-2 seconds to see the results list update. Pressing Enter would incorrectly show the previous result list in the SearchResults grid.
  7. New: Grid display option to show a check-mark next to the item. Shows whether an item is marked done or not.
Stay tuned !

auto-edit - keep horizontal position when use arrow key to move to item above/below?

Submitted by jimspoon on 2012/10/07 08:03
When I have auto-edit mode on, and have the cursor in the middle of an item (in the Item column), and I press the Up key to move to the previous item in the grid, the cursor jumps to the beginning of the previous item.  I would prefer that the cursor retain its horizontal position when it enters the previous item.  Is there a setting for this?

(Needless to say, the same thing applies when using the down key to move to the next item).

Field properties in 26 pre-releases 1 and 2

Submitted by Jon on 2012/10/04 17:17
Hey Pierre, could you please take a look at this from http://www.sqlnotes.net/drupal5/index.php?q=node/2674?

"One thing I noticed right off the bat - open field properties. No fields are listed although they appear in the property pane."

I could be doing something wrong, but it works as it should in W10. Why has this not been addressed as it was the first observation following pre-release 1. It is glaring.

Also, could you please clarify this?

"Are the Type and Show As drop downs editable? If not can they be made so?"

Thank you.

auto-assign value to parent field when value is assigned to a child field?

Submitted by jimspoon on 2012/09/12 12:31
I have arranged fields in a hierarchy - for example -

Hardware Items > Storage Devices > Flash Memory Cards > CompactFlash (Memory Stick, SD, Micro SD).  These are all yes/no fields

If I check the the "Micro SD" field for an item, is it possible to set up IQ so that the parent fields (Hardware Items, Storage Devices, Flash Memory Cards) are also checked?

A row equation of some sort?

assign a field value to multiple items at the same time?

Submitted by jimspoon on 2012/09/12 12:16
In Ecco, I can highlight multiple items in a notepad, and in the folder pane, I can click on the button for a specific folder , and then click "Add Selected Items Folders" - and in this way I can assign a field value (e.g. yes/no) to multiple selected items at the same time.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to do this in IQ.  When I highlight multiple items in a grid, and then click a yes/no field check box in the properties pane field list - the yes/no field value is not assigned to the items I selected.  The Propertiies Pane title bar flashes orange and nothing happens.  It seems that checking the box in the field list (or in a form) works only when a single item is selected in the grid.

What's up with this?  Is this by design, a bug, a feature not yet implemented?
