Strange behavior when selecting a cell

Submitted by jsolka on 2011/03/02 14:53
It used to happen before and it cause some problems (but I don't exactly remember). Now I haven't noticed how this could be a problem, but since it reminds me of the one before I decided to let you know.
When I select a cell, the whole column seems like it is selected (but is really isn't, at least it wouldn't be copied as a whole column) -- there is that funny shading around the whole active column. I tried to go back to back-ups, and it worked, then after a while same thing happens. So far didn't notice any other adverse effect.
Thanks

Map view freezes IQ

Submitted by Jon on 2011/02/27 09:44
 Using version K.

1. I select a TLI with 80 or so children. The child items also have a couple of subs.
2. Select map view.
3. Usually this is sufficient to freeze IQ. If the map view displays successfully, close it and try displaying it again.

I usually experience a freeze on the first attempt, but always during the second try.

Problem with multiple parents?

Submitted by Jon on 2011/02/24 08:49
Using version K. I confess that I do not use links all that much to create multiple parents, so this may be my problem. I do use the Ultra Recall equivalent of this quite a lot, and must say that it is rather simple and straightforward.

I have created links by CTRL-Dragging to another parent in another grid. I have also used the copy/past link method. Both yield similar results. Thhe property pane lists each of thhe linked items as having only one parent, and the items no longer are displayed in their original location. I have refreshed the grids and re-started IQ.

Is it something I am doing wrong?

pdf docs don't show well in HTML pane

Submitted by d bartlett on 2011/02/23 11:07
for my PM work I like to link and access specific docs from with IQ via the HTML pane, i.e. Plan, Budget, Schedule.  MS Office linked docs always snap into place quickly and smartly, but I'm having trouble with linked pdf docs, sometimes they show, most times they don't, such that viewing linked pdf docs from within the HTML pane is dysfunctional as a quick-access veiwing and reference tool.  IQ version 0.9.25K and Acrobat version 9.4.2.  thanks to anybody with some ideas.  Doug

RTF editor?

Submitted by Jon on 2011/02/21 19:19
Just an observation from the home page:

You are looking for a :
All-in-one information management solution
Rich-text one-pane outliner
Two-pane outliner with RTF editor

That last line is inaccurate, isn't it? I would prefer rtf, and I seem to remember that it is supposed to be implemented, but for now, it"s html.

Inconsistent manner of creating new items when using filters

Submitted by Jon on 2011/02/20 17:22
I have filtered on a column and want to create a new item. Hitting enter does not create a visible item (yes, I know the item has been created, but since it does not meet the filter's criteria, it is not displayed. I can however create a new item by right clicking or using the menu. The same applies to sub items.

Now here is the bigger inconsistency. If I use the menu to create an item or sub item, I can create further siblings by hitting enter.

Auto size width and multi level column headers

Submitted by Jon on 2011/02/20 17:15
I am using version K and have previously reported problems with these two features. I have been stress testing these by repeatedly activating different combinations (both on, both off one or the other on) and can report that eventually they stop working as they should. Aside from filling the entire screen with columns, auto width stops completely displaying the entire column as it did on the first couple of activations. Multi level headers similarly does not work as it did when first used (although it was not working correctly for me to begin with). One or two headers which had the room to be displayed were truncated.
