Could inheritance or hierarchical sum (parent/children...) be conditional ?

Submitted by Armando on 2009/09/27 22:25
(This is actually both a suggestion and a question.)

In other words : inheritance or sum would "propagate" only when certain fields are ticked.

That would be great as it would prevent propagation of hierarchical sums/inheritance where it's not needed or not even... not wanted at all.

Grids got transfered from one DB to another without any intervention !

Something really weird happend , Pierre : these empty grids opening got transfered/copied (litteraly) to the next DB I opened. Opening a new DB copied new grids from the other DB !

The "Filters", "ProjectGantt" and "adressBook_" in this test DB are grids from another DB -- my own.
The "ProjectGantt"is a grid I created yesterday, and it's impossible that I got it in "there", in this other DB, with exactly the same settings (filters, etc.)

On the positive side, I got a new feature for free... Cloning/importing grids... If only I could have the control on that one. :)

I could put this one in Mantis... But can't reproduce it on demand.

Grids buttons (in the view->grids submenu / "views" toolbar ) don't work well when loading multiple databases

Nobody ever complains about that, but it does it all the time. I don't have anything special to do.
Maybe I'm one of the few with 2 or 3 DB (mantis issue 641 ).

[EDIT : I think it has to do with the 1st opened grid containing MORE grids than the 2nd one that's opened.... I can now reproduce that . Can someone confirm ?]

not able to save any configuration for gantt charts on newly created grids

Submitted by Armando on 2009/09/26 00:55
Anything I set for start/end date fields, etc. is not saved. (Older grids for which gantt was already set are ok)
[Edit : Sorry, it was late last night when I wrote that : I'm talking about Start/end date fields in the Manage Grids dialog, gantt chart settings -- edits in yellow]

Anybody can confirm that ?

Need advice on the best way to use a few default fields --> EndDate + StartDate, TaskDate

Submitted by Armando on 2009/09/25 19:56
I didn't find any clear indication on the best way to use these fields and their function, especially since there are other similar fields like TaskActStart & TaskActEnd.

1- StartDate (+EndDate &TaskDate) : What are these for exactly ? How do they work / are related with/to TaskActStart & TaskActEnd ?

[edit : guess it's for billing ?]

2- Also a few words about :

TaskID & NextTaskID : I understand they're linked to the gantt chart and help understand how tasks are linked (Linking tasks together using the gantt chart will automatically assign tasks IDs). But are there other "functions"  to these fields ?

Import from UltraRecall w text & numbers works (dates & HTML links upcoming)

Submitted by jan_rifkinson on 2009/09/22 13:14
Pierre, Altho I have & can get info out of URp via the export / import process, I think there's something strange going on.
It looks to me like the data is exported (or imported) at certain levels but not at others even w recursive setting employed.
For example, I've been able to import grandchildren but not always children
I don't know about other levels.
Also what do you check off for export in UltraRecall?
Could you check this when you get a chance?

Thanks.
