Importing from Hierarchical Data Files

InfoQube can import from outline-based data files. Supported formats are OML, OPML and Tab Intended.
  1. To import from another program, first use that program to export to a supported format. Note where the generated file is saved
  2. In InfoQube, open the file and grid where you want this data to appear. The grid must be one with a simple source (i.e. such as Adrsbook, Inbox, or any other grid with a single field source)
  3. Do File > Import from > Hierarchical Data. The following dialog will be shown:

  4. Click Browse and select the file. The dialog will update with a preview of the data to import:

Print preview broken in HTML pane?

Submitted by Tom on 2009/09/16 05:09
Seems to be broken here on three installs - USB + fresh + my 'everday' version

I almost never print HTML pane so maybe I've forgotten something but:-
  • The shortcut  doesnt work (when HTML pane has focus)
  • (HTML) Menu > File > Print preview doesnt work.
I know in the grid there is the option to print html pane of 'focused' item -
has that superceded direct HTML pane printing?

Task bar notification on backup

Submitted by dtsig on 2009/09/15 11:21
9.24f, vista64 ultimate
Every 10 minutes the minimized IQ highlights as it if it looking for input.  Is this new behavior in 9.24f?  Has anyone else seen this?  I have made no changes to my backup settings though it is set to 10 minutes.  Could be connected?

It just happened in 8 minutes so probably isn't related but it is consistent.

How to make your own template for items HTML export ?

Submitted by Armando on 2009/09/14 18:59
A nice "how to" would be good. I don't think there's one but I might be mistaken.

According to the popup in the dialog, one only needs to create an HTML document (with MS word or whatever...), or just using the text box, placing the fields one wants to appear between "{ }":

Something like that (very basic) should work, I guess -- but I'm quite ignorant :

Calendar week days

Submitted by dtsig on 2009/09/14 11:01
The calendar is showing Sat-Wed as the days of the week.  Although i don't mind not working Thursday and Friday I really don't want to work Saturday and Sunday <g> How do I set the calendar to what the days of the week are?  It is correctly showing today as Monday.
I think this is a new behavior with 0.9.24f which i just installed (should have kept the old version to test)

A search Box in the "manual" section ? (and/or... A search box at the top of everypage ?)

Submitted by Armando on 2009/09/13 18:57
I don't know... It just seems that so many things are already answered in the manual...  Maybe if there was some "Search the manual" option somewhere (on the search page AND on the manual page, etc.) , it would help the users out there to use the manual.

Also : I always found the fact that the "search" text box is only available on the search page a bit strange. Most Web sites/forums have it at the top of almost everypage). Having it at the top of everypage would make the IQ community "menu/section" smaller (a good thing IMO), and would probably encourage searching. And, of course, a "search the manual" option would make it even easier to find answers.

What do you think, users ?

Backin Up

Submitted by jsolka on 2009/09/12 23:56
I keep my IQ on USB memory stick. I use it at work and at home. However, when I try to back up, I get the message "cannot copy file so and so. The parameter is incorrect." and this messes up the whole back up process. I think it's there are different paths on each computer, but still, I would like to be able to back up all the data all at once without picking what ever files I wnat to back up. What is the best way to do it?
Thanks
