Win-N : Add Item dialog appears filled with previously clipped/copied data

Submitted by Armando on 2010/04/17 11:39
This is a previously fixed bug which came back -- probably when adding the "clipping info" option in the dialog or something like that.

So the problem is what this threads subject says... Also,  "clipping info" adds up each time the dialog appears.

Steps :

- Select some text somewhere
- Win-C to clip it,
- Dialog appears and click on "add" to add to your DB.
- Win-N to add a note : Add Item dialog appears filled with previously clipped data.

[Edit : I think the same can be achieved by copying some data, and then pressing WIN-N : Add Item dialog appears filled with the copied data.]

Anybody can confirm ?

[Weird] scratch pane opens and shows wrong parent for item (and focus is on parent, not on actual "researched" item)

Submitted by Armando on 2010/04/16 14:33
This seems very similar to what Jan reported a while ago but that I couldn't reproduce.

1- open scratch pane and turn on context parent

2- Open another grid
3- Select an item with siblings which are not in displayed in grid
4- in properties pane : click on one of those sibling not displayed
5- scratch pane opens (normally) and if context parent is on : a-shows wrong parent (shows a parent even if the item doesn't have any!) b- focus is on the context parent and not the item.

No warning for inappropriate sub-item filter

e.g.   followup is null and OK is null | blablabla wrong syntax

IQ says nothing about it being wrong... It's silently ignored.

This was confirmed a long time ago (2008 07), but was never fixed. Should it be fixed or will that filter option become obsolete ?

(Like the other ones, I can add them to Mantis if necessary.)

Drag drop from Outlook : could the hyperlinks be created (semi)automatically (like for external files drag-drop) ?

When drag drop Drag drop from Outlook : could the hyperlinks be created (semi)automatically (like for external files) ? This would allow better integration.

The idea here is that the user wouldn't have to 1- open the hyperlink dialog -- which could sill be available manually for hyperlink creation in specific fields which are not the item field -- 2- switch to outlook, 3- drag drop to IQ, 4- fill the dialog to create these outlook "Hyperlink". Instead, the user would just drag, drop, and fill the dialog if necessary.

WikiTag data entered in the additem dialog seems to override any other fields auto-assign rules

Submitted by Armando on 2010/04/15 16:43
If a field already has an autoassign rule which will add strings to the wikitag field (e.g. A:WIKITag=AddKeyword(WIKITag, "tgsPordr") ) , it should probably not be overridden by the WikiTag data entered in the additem dialog.

E.g. : My "Software" field has this auto-assign rule :

A:WIKITag=AddKeyword(WIKITag, "tgsPordr") |

field management : multi line should probably be changed for "word wrap"

Submitted by Armando on 2010/04/15 16:20
"Wordwrap" is the term used in the grid context menu. The field management uses a different term : multi line.

It should be one or the other, but not both as it complicates communication and comprehension.

Maybe Worwrap could be kept ?
