I working in my inbox where many items have html content (I usually dont work with html pane). The HTML pane is showing.
I'm working in the grid, adding comments to a 'Comments' text field.
When I click in a different item, about 60% of the time I get this dialogue:

---------------------------
InfoQube
---------------------------
Save changes ?
---------------------------
OK   Cancel
---------------------------

I've had this before but never so consistently, but then I dont usually work this way.
I also cannot figure out why I just get it some of the time but will keep my eyes open ;-)

Is there any setting I can change that might affect this - closing the html pane stops it - but I want to see the contents so that's not a solution.

Why, somtimes, the UI (mainly grid) and DB get out of sync?

Submitted by cnewtonne on 2010/10/11 10:02
Hi all,
I spent 2 days last week putting IQ to the test to migrate some of my work via exporting from my current ListPro program. Once thing In noticed as I started manipulating rows around via move/delete/copy/paste in the grid, is that even though the grid clearly showed me that the rows got affected fine by the operations, hitting F5 showed a different story. Rows that I deleted were not actually deleted. Rows that seems to have moved, did not actually move.

This db that I was testing with contained 2500 rows. Both the order and hierarchy matters the most as it described a very specific procedure. My concern is that IQ did not respect this even though the gird showed that it did. The presence of a refresh function concerns me as am not sure what the expectation is from the user!

Am I supposed to refresh everytime I perform an operation on the rows?

Database auto backup : perform the backup on a separate process ?

Submitted by Armando on 2010/10/08 11:18
The auto backup is a significant problem with my rather largish DB. If I leave IQ alone for a short while, come back to just jot a note, IQ will start its auto-backup, forcing me to wait a good 30s which isn't practical, especially when it's just for a few seconds data entry (I could time it precisely, but it's significant). This happens several times a day.

You (Pierre) once suggested that this operation could be moved to a separate copy process... This would be great!

copy / paste as new item vs copy, i.e. linked

Submitted by jan_rifkinson on 2010/10/07 13:44
copy item from grid "A" as XML selected item (no sub-items)
paste item into grid "B" in the midst of a thread (make it 4 levels for test)
paste choice: NEW or LINKED.
If user chooses LINKED, item AND ALL SUB-ITEMS are pasted even though copy choice was for NO Sub-Items
very confusing

I think item only should paste either NEW or LINKED
In case of LINKED, new sub-items would also appear as sub-items to original parent

Otherwise, I suggest that the dialog be clarified as pasting as single item can only be as a NEW item

copy / paste item collapses thread

Submitted by jan_rifkinson on 2010/10/07 13:07
copy item from grid "A" as XML selected item (no sub-items)
paste item into grid "B" in the midst of a thread (make it 4 levels for test), i.e. paste under item @ level 3
impossible to paste item under selected item because it will paste below parent & then has to be moved manually. Also entire thread collapses

User has to expand thread
User has to manually position pasted item under the 3rd level item

Gantt chart task bar color

Submitted by Al on 2010/10/06 14:25
1. I'm trying to change the color of a gantt chart task bar color, right now they are all black. I reviewed the documentation, but wasn't sure of the procedure (see below). When I changed the Bar color field, it changed the back color also. When I select the Show Overview Zoom buttons the bars became purple, if I deselect the Show Overview Zoom buttons the bars remain purple. The purple is fine, but it seems the behavior is rather weird. I would still like to know how to change an individual bar color.

2. I have the gantt chart in week format, is there a way to change the week labels from week number to a date that is shown in the context label, e.g.

Pictures (jpegs) to MHT

Submitted by KeithB on 2010/10/05 19:13
I have many items with links to .jpg files that I would like to also have MHTs for, (and delete the original jpg files).
Is there any easier way, rather than one-by-one, HTML pane convert to MHT, go into Word, insert picture, then save?

Note that these items are from books that I own, that I've digitized and am marking up with notes and such.

Remote access of grid content

Submitted by Pierre_Admin on 2010/10/05 17:17
The forthcoming Google Calendar sync will provide remote access of events and tasks. What about grids ?

One easy to implement way is using Dropbox-like services:
  1. A grid would be marked as Synced
  2. User would supply a path for the auto-generated HTML export of the grid
  3. Export would be done on file>>close (all grids) or on Grid>>Save (current one only)
  4. User would use an IPhone-like app to view this file. The Dropbox Iphone app is particularly nice, as it allows local storage of the file, plus it warns you when the server version is more recent, so the local copy can be updated
  5. Expand / collapse works on most mobile web browsers

When in "Edit mode" (in cell), undo doesn't undo previous "immediate in cell editing", but previous item action

Submitted by Armando on 2010/10/05 11:39
When in "Edit mode" (in cell), undo doesn't undo previous "immediate in cell editing" (e.g. : won't un-type last typed letter) , but previous item action (will un-mark an item markes as checked).

I don't remember if this has always been the case or not.
