Task Dependencies in InfoQube

In InfoQube, you can set dependencies between items, typically items which represent tasks. This is done using 3 fields:
  1. TaskID (System Field #97)
  2. NextTaskID (System Field #98)
  3. NextTaskDelay (System Field #93)
These are used in 2 contexts:
  1. Gantt chart, to show links between items, optionally defining the exact dependency (Finish to Start for example)
  2. Task management through the Next Task Actions settings

automate a next week field from another date

The following equation does not seem to be working here

A:Today=|
A:Tomorrow=|
A:ThisWeek=|
A:DateDue=Int(Now)+7

I guess I could remove the last line & the last "|" and rename the 'next week' field to 'future'

Doesn't the above mean:
The value is not today
The value is not tomorrow
The value i's not this week
The value is whatever the datedue is +7

Important: Do not install IE 9 Beta !!!

Submitted by Pierre_Admin on 2010/10/03 21:26
Hi IQ users

Working with dedicated user Jan, we came to the conclusion, and a quick Internet search confirmed it, that IE9 Beta is NOT ready for prime-time use. In particular, when using it as an editor, which many apps do, such as IQ, Outlook and this web site.

We're still trying to find a way to restore Jan system (a simple uninstall is not suffcient, apparently). Will keep you informed... but for now, the STRONGEST RECOMMENDATION I CAN MAKE IS TO NOT INSTALL IE9 BETA

Trouble launching external editor from HTML pane

Submitted by lucasd on 2010/10/02 20:21
 Hello all,

So far I've been unsuccessful attempting to launch an external editor (MS Word 2010 or BlockNotes) from the HTML pane. I've tried:

  • Portable version and Installed version of IQ (and both 0.9.25B and 0.9.25C of installed version)
  • Various variations in the pathname (in "Options"):  lowercase, uppercase, mixed case, / vs \, etc
  • Starting with the external editor open vs starting with the external editor closed
  • Using an Environment path shortcut
  • Trying the above with both MS Word 2010 and BlockNotes
So far, nothing has worked.

Since I'm running Windows XP, my path looks like this: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\WINWORD.EXE
or: C:\Program Files\BlockNote.Net\BlockNote.exe

Has anyone else successfully used this functionality with the latest version of IQ and running XP?

beta 9.25c1 portable > cliipping only URL but not HTML content <resolved>

Submitted by jan_rifkinson on 2010/10/02 11:48
No matter what way I try to clip content, it is not showing up in HTML pane
I have:
  • closed, restarted, repaired, compacted, re-installed program.
  • installed to different location
  • I have tried clipping via <win>C, select <CTRL>C+<Win>N + <CTRL>V, Clip content icon
  • I have tried w & w/o 'adding clipping info' selected
  • I have not tried as MHT because I don't want MHT
In all cases,IQ has created a URL to the data but has not transferred data to the HTML pane.
After this problem is resolved, I will have to go back & re-do about 3 hours work of clipping & cataloging work from today
This may be a local problem but I suggest anyone clipping, check as you go along, check HTML pane

Upcoming work on calendar

Submitted by Jon on 2010/10/01 09:10
Hi Pierre:

Thank you for 25C1.

I have several questions and observations about the current calendar and where you plan to go with the one in the next version.

1. I notice that there are additional options to view the calendar listed under customizations in 25C1. These appear to be non-functional, unless I am doing something wrong. Are these features that will be coming in 26?

2. Will the new calendar havve the ability to graphically highlight scheduling conflicts?

3. In the timeline view inder 25C1, if I try to add an event, the dates default to 12/30/1899. Will this be fixed?

Thank you.

Jon
