I constantly loose the Word Wrap column settings for many grids. But it doesn't seem to happen in all grids. Sometimes I'll set a column/field to Word Wrap and it'll stick, sometimes it won't and every time I close/re-open the grid, I have to set the word-wrap again on all the columns which need it.

 

Anybody else ?

I remember them being archived so people could still look at them, but now I can't find them.  Are they still around?

I've discovered 2 items for which values in the ItemParent and ItemGparent fields don't match values shown in the "parents" section of properties pane.

I.e. : For 2 items, ItemParent and ItemGparent fields show some items names, but these names are no where in the "parents" section of properties pane.

 

I've tried a repair, but it doesn't change anything.

 

(discovered this bug because I use the ItemParent value to do some sorting.)

Regarding file linking, the documentation website 8.20 "Link to files and folders" has helped quite a bit.

I keep saving the grid order in the grid management dialog. Everytime IQ restarts, the order changes. I can reproduce it every single time.

However, I don't understand how the order that appears is set when I create new grids... It's like semi-random.

I read thru the documentation & it was very clear but needed more detail for dummies like me.

Here's what I want to do for Project cost

I have worker hours & cost set up this way

Fields =

date

time in (24 hr format)

time out (24 hr format)

total hrs

rate

cost

 

so as I understand it I would need the following equations

total hrs = time out - time in

Equation for Field Total Hours might be something like =sum(time out-time in)

Equation for cost might something like =sum(total hrs*35)

 

I saw there were certain named function, i.e. sum, max, min, ave

Hi, FYI I've found 25E to be a bit of an undpredictable experience, last week I had trouble accomplishing simple date sorts, i.e. descending or ascending - nothing would happen, yesterday I noticed I was losing data when doing a simple line item move from one location in a grid to another in the same grid by means of the mouse - the line c/w data simply disappeared instead of relocating.  I know this will all be resolved eventually, I am a big fan of !Q, but am adding this comment simply so Pierre and the rest of you IQ-engineers are aware, maybe it will help you somehow.  This morning I unloaded 25E and reloaded 25C which I found to be nicely stable. thanks, Doug
