Confused about copy/paste to create item with multiple parents

Submitted by Jon on 2011/02/11 09:14
The subject says it all. I can CTRL+drag to create items with multiple parents, but this does not work using copy/paste. I am using copy xml (either selection or selection and subs) and choosing link when pasting. What am I doing wrong?

I need this because dragging across a large outline is tedious.

can't get focus from HTML to grid with either f9 or f12

Submitted by ThomR on 2011/02/10 12:08
Guess I'm posting a bunch lately 'cause it's crunchtime for a thesis chapter, which means I'm using Infoqube a whole lot, and also procrastinating in the forums :)

Neither F9 nor F12 are working for me. Once focus is on the HTML pane, it seems to be stuck there! I'm "working" in Windows 7, latest IQ build.

Keyboard movement in filters (M)

Submitted by KeithB on 2011/02/08 12:47
I request better keyboard control of the filter area.

I'd like something to:

1) bring the source box in focus, with a keystroke,

2) then the ability to tab to the filter box toggle, and an optional spacebar to toggle the present filter on/off

3) then a tab to access the sql filter

4) then a tab to the alphanumeric, and an optional spacebar toggle

5) then tab to the date filter, and an optional spacebar toggle

What I have in mind, is to quickly use an autohotkey-type program to easily load in my info, say "IconStatus", then tab over to the sql area and put "ItemCreated > now-10 and ItemCreated < now, then tab over to the sort area and put in WIKITag, and have a homemade saved filter set.

Environment variables in HTML pane links (M)

Submitted by ThomR on 2011/02/07 20:30
It doesn't seem like the HTML pane (at least) can parse filepaths which include environment variables such as %userprofile%... I consistently get the error "File not found: %Userprofile%\Filename.pdf. Could not load content." Is this indeed the case? Is it possible to get this to work? I have my DB synced across two different computers, and I have to manually reload these pdfs every time I want to browse them.

Deleting/hiding Fields

Submitted by pejay on 2011/02/07 00:56
Is there a way to get rid of "undeletable" (grayed out) fields? (BTW, why are they undeletable?)
I tried hiding them both in Info Pane and Available Fields, to no avail. All of them are still there.
Problem is I barely use 1% of those fields and want to customize to use only mine, if possible.
TIA

How to organize databes

Submitted by jsolka on 2011/02/04 15:39
I've been using IQ, among other things, as a "dashboard" to access other files (that's why hyperlinks were so important for me). Now, what I've been doing so far: all the linked files, I would still organize in the usual windows way via folders. I've been doing this mostly for fear that should something ever happen to IQ (or should I like to use something else) -- I won't be able to make sense of all those files if they were just thrown in without any structure. But here is my dilemma -- I just feel that I do my work twice, and anyway, the IQ structure is easily changed and reorganized the windows folders stay the same & rigid. And if I ever need to change it, then I would have to rework my links. So maybe it is really not worth it, and it would be better to just not care about how the linked files are kept as long as they linked and organized through IQ, Anyway, was curious about your thoughts.
Thanks
