how to create equation

Submitted by jan_rifkinson on 2009/01/23 13:53
Pierre,

Now I'm getting into wanting to figure out equations, etc.  I know I hav asked this before but here goes again:

I have a priority field which consists of a text list. The list is H | M | L
I would like to automate a change in font from regular to bold & maybe even color to red or blue when the priority is "H"

In Field properties there are 3 possible equation setup dialogs
In my particular case

Would I use the first one, i.e. row or
the 2nd one?

I created the following which I know is not correct but here it is anyway
if priority = h then itemfont = bold

Thanks for your help

Re-open w saved state

Submitted by jan_rifkinson on 2009/01/23 10:45
Pierre, I know you are hard @ work on the calendar -- something close to my heart -- but I wish you would update IQ so it remembers the state of open grids, position, etc.  Every time I have to close / re-open IQ either because I've updated some filters or something or because I've restarted my computer, I have to manually re-set all my open grids etc. This is becoming a real PITA.  Thanks

[How to] show all sub-items for multiple items or whole grid?

Submitted by Tom on 2009/01/23 04:59
Dunno if this a request or a "How to"

Can I show all sub-items for
1) selected items
2) all items in grid ?

Ideally if I select, say five items, and click "show all sub-items" in the context menu, this would apply to all items (i.e. show all sub-items of the five items

Currently, it only shows sub-items for the item on which you right -click - is this cause the selection is deselected by the right-click? [actually I think the selection isnt deselected but results seem variable = I'm not sure]
Is there a shortcut key to show the item context menu (apps key doesnt do it - would be nice) - possibly if the selection isn't "broken" all sub-items would show [for all selected items]?

For "all items in grid" I guess we'd need a new context menu command?

InfoQube and Chandler

I came across this really neat Chandler Wiki entry:

Chandler (does it presentation?) was/is a huge project. Large team, years of work, mega money. The result... I'll let others judge as I have not looked at it in detail.

But any large project with bright minds is something useful to pull as much from as possible.

creating / using contact list

Submitted by jan_rifkinson on 2009/01/22 10:54

Should user create a specialized 'contact' field or use the item field for the contact name?
Is there any advantage of using one over the other?

I'm assuming user keeps notes on mtgs etc in the html pane instead of being able to inserting sub-items that contain mtg / appt dates & mtg notes?

Or maybe the above is not the way to go.

Suggestions for an efficient contact / address book please where one can keep track of tel logs & mtg notes with the contact entry

Thank you.

Can't open or create files

Submitted by Anonymous on 2009/01/21 12:29
I've just started to acquaint myself with the program. It started fine the first couple of times--I was able to create files and open and reopen them. But now I can't do either. If I try to open a new file, I get an error message saying, "The file D:\Documents\<filename.SNDB> already exists. Do you want to delete the existing file and replace it with this one?" I've tried this several times with different new file names and I get the same error message each time; just to be clear, no such file name can exist yet, because I haven't created them yet.

For files that I had already created, when I try to open them, there is a yellow warning strip along the bottom of the program that says "1: cmdbar_Execute|1/21/2009 12:24:17 PM|70|Permission denied(1=0)"

I am installing the program from 0.9.24PortablePreRel4.zip.
