Strange stuff in new grids

Submitted by DavidF on 2016/05/07 08:56
hi,

lately, any new grids I create are appearing pre-populated with bits and pieces from an item in another grid. This item has some text in the HTML Pane and has about 70 subitems. When I make a new grid, the grid appears with:
  • the same piece of text that's in the other item's HTML Pane, in its own Pane (the Pane is not locked) for one of its items
  • the item in the new grid that has this Pane text has "Heading 2" for some reason as Item text
  • this same item has about 70 blank subitems, as per the item in the other grid
I cannot get any of this to stop happening. Tried "Repair" to no effect.

Export Issues

As I've been sinking more and more time into putting my research into InfoQube, I've been increasingly having thoughts about the need for some kind of export and back up to software completely independent of InfoQube.  I wonder if I'm being too paranoid and am just wasting my time looking into this but I've already sunk several hours into it.

I'm looking for some method that will at least preserve the majority of my labor in a format that's readily accessible and reliable and will remain so for the foreseeable future.  I don't expect anything to go wrong with InfoQube at all but I think, for me, it would provide a little extra measure of comfort if I knew that my work cannot be lost (at least not completely).

I've read the manual, looked at past threads, and tried out several possibilities.  It doesn't look like there's a simple solution to this.  My inclination is to go with Ecco Pro or Excel.  In the

Need fix for poison item crashes

Submitted by WayneK on 2016/05/04 19:41
I created a website link.  When I went to edit it, it crashed InfoQube (goes to "InfoQube not working", then total white-out freeze).
Re-started repeatedly and found that it crashes InfoQube every time I try to edit it.  Tried doing other things in the same file and found no problem.  Just this one item that crashes InfoQube 100% of the time.

I decided to just delete it and go from there but I can't even do that because just clicking on the item crashes the program.  Is there a way to delete an item without clicking on it?  (as always, desperately trying to avoid having to do a full reboot).

Double-click column bar adds new item

Submitted by DavidF on 2016/05/04 18:42
OK, may as well add this one as well while I'm in IQ. I noticed that double-clicking on any "blank" part of the column bar - ie any part of it to the right of the right-most column - has the effect of adding a new item. Is this meant to happen? I guess you could avoid it pretty easily by, you know, not double-clicking on a blank part of the column bar... The reason I noticed though is that I was double-clicking on the column dividers, to make the columns autosize (as checking this in Manage Grids didn't have any effect) - if I clicked on the right-most column divider, it not only autosized the column, it added a new item. Took me a while to work out where they were all coming from.

The Home Page is a customizable HTML page that is shown as a tab in your workspace, along side your Calendar, Grids, Surface, MindMaps and other views. By default, it look as such:

It lists:

Clicking on any link will show the corresponding information

If more than one Home Page is defined, << and >> navigation buttons are shown in the upper right corner. Click these to switch to a different Home Page.
