The Properties pane can be used to modify / add field values of many items in one step (i.e. in bulk)

To do so:
  1. In any view (grid, Calendar, Surface, etc), select 1 or more items
  2. Enter the value in the Properties pane. A Taskbar popup is shown confirming the operation. Click Edit > Undo (Ctrl + Z) to undo

Example:

You have created a grid called 'ProjectSomiro' .  All the items in it (at top level) have the field 'ProjectSomiro' set to true. As the number of project is increasing, you realize that you prefer to use a single text field, instead of a multitude of yes/no fields.

Data Loss in HTML Pane

Submitted by David_H on 2016/06/11 23:55
I was working in the HTML pane in IQ and closed IQ.  Reopened and the info I had typed in the HTML pane was gone.  I realized this has happened to me before and it's because if you close IQ when in the HTML pane without first moving off the item, the HTML changes are not saved.

1. Why?  I'd think IQ should warn the user and ask if the changes to the HTML pane should be saved.

2. Is there a setting under Options that would stop this from happening in the future?

Thanks

[Half fixed ;) ] IQ doesn't want to restore my layout anymore

 Here's what happened
- deleted a bunch of items by mistake
- got a backup (from 15 min ago)
- renamed the backup to *.SNDB
- opened it : only the home page appeared. OK, not fun but whatever. So I open all tabs again, put them in their panes, etc. which  took a while as I'm working on 3 complex projects "at the same time" (sort of).

Then:
- closed IQ to check something out.
- reopened it later : no tabs, no layout!
- So I checked the options : everything's fine.
--> Restore layout ... : checked
--> Show restore layout dialog : ... checked.

- So I tried to open the original corrupted file : everything is fine. Layout appears.

But the I can't get the "new" file to record the  layout.

Properties pane : field name display bug

Submitted by Armando on 2016/06/11 16:27
This has to do with a new feature in the properties pane where the field is a hyperlink that can directly call a grid (when the field is the grid's source).

Many of my fields are represented by icons in grids column's captions. For those fields, the name appears like that in the  properties pane :

note_edit_trans>NotesDivers

Instead of just : NotesDivers

(NotesDivers is set so that in the grids' column headers, the NotesDivers field appears as [ICON] NotesDivers -- where [ICON] is an icon)

Importing from Evernote

Submitted by DavidF on 2016/06/11 07:32
hi,

when you use the "import Evernote" function, is there any way of bringing in the URL of the item?

And, on the same theme, if you do bring in the URL for an item, is there any way of making the web page for that URL appear in the HTML Pane?

Basically I'm looking for a neat streamlined way of bringing in 100s of web pages captured in Evernote.

HTML Pane Gets Locked on Home Pane

Submitted by David_H on 2016/06/11 01:32
I'm not sure how to reproduce this, but twice today I've had the HTML pane lock to the home grid item (which is one I created, NOT the default home grid).  Each time it's happened, as I click on various items, I see the text for the clicked on item in the HTML pane for a fraction of a second, then it disappears and reverts back to the home page HTML pane.

On each occasion that it happened, the only way I was able to get it to stop was to close and reopen IQ.  I also looked at the lock command for the HTML pane - it was not actually locked.

I'm on V78a and I've never seen it happen before today.  If it happens again I'll record a video of it.

Properties pane : moving vertically with the up/down arrow : "focus" disappears when on section titles/separators

Submitted by Armando on 2016/06/10 16:08
Focus basically "disappears" (no more grey/dark color) when on section titles. Hard to explain better but it makes it impossible see where the focus is and impossible to expand/collapse sections while navigating with the keyboard.

Orphan Search Question

Love the new feature BTW.  Pierre, please see the attached screenshot with markups.

1. As shown in the screenshot, I do not believe the item font value should stop the items in question from showing up in an orphan search, so perhaps that can be addressed in a future release?  Also, I confirmed that is what is stopping them from showing up, because the moment I deleted the font value on one of them, they showed up as orphans as they should.

keyboard shortcuts list doesn't list all shortcuts

Submitted by jimspoon on 2016/06/08 14:31
I notice that All.Shortcuts.tab and User.Shortcuts.tab don't list some of my shortcuts, for example Ctrl+number and Ctrl+Shift+number.  Why is that?

I do see these shortcuts listed at http://www.sqlnotes.net/drupal5/index.php?q=node/147

Do we have an exhaustive list of all shortcuts somewhere?

Also I notice there is no Expand/Collapse to Level command in the Item menu.
