Item bullet indicates that item has no children... But it does. (IMPORTANT)

This is somewhat the contrary of what I've described in another thread (Item bullet suggests that the item has children but.... has no children (according to properties pane etc.)). It's probably related.

It doesn't happen too often but it's very problematic when it does as the bullets are really the main way to see if items have children or not.

Show all items doesn't even work in these cases...

Could these problems be linked to :

1- changing the double click to Alt click to show all items ?
2- the full hierarchy fixes ?

Item bullet suggests that the item has children but.... has no children (according to properties pane etc.)

Recap. : Item bullet suggests that the item has children but.... has no children (according to properties pane etc.)

There seem to be at least 2 linked problems

- Normally, this item should be filtered out, but it still does appear
- context parent is on and so it could be that IQ shows it as if it was a context parent of some sort. However, it doesn't have any children.
(1- If I alt-click (show all items) nothing happens, 2- properties pane clearly says that it doesn't have any parents)

Let's change the word "tagging" for "collecting"

Submitted by Armando on 2010/03/11 14:42
Hi Pierre,
I think it's time to make this small change ( it's already in mantis ( 750 ), and probably somewhere else in the forum...) : Change everything "tag" related to "collect" or something like that. The tagging word is just too confusing.

Collection is borrowed from directory opus.

Some suggestions :

"Tag item" : Add to collection

"Add item to tagged list" : Add item to collection

CalcUrgency result is zero not null

 Using Pre-Rel 19
I'm using the same color coding for upcoming/current/overdue items as the sample grids for my own To-Do/Task list. These use the CalcUrgency and CalcColor functions. When I went to mark items as "done" after switching to Pre-Rel 19 the value of the Urgency field recalculates as zero and not null.  Consequently the CalcColor function, which checks for null,  doesn't change the item color to show me that the item has been completed. Switching back to PreRel 18 reverts to to the regular behavior.
Not sure (with my limited knowledge!) if this in any way is linked to Tom's problem with Equations.
Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

help with 4.40.30 Item Copy & Paste

Submitted by Tom on 2010/03/11 05:22

I've been doing some work on Item Copy & Paste - Selection - Drag & Drop

Can you please check it as it's not really my area of expertise (what is !)

If you think it could be better described please change or suggest changes here (thanks)

e.g. I have never pasted into another outliner so cant really say anything particular about that option - but it looks great when pasted into the html pane !

I intend to add
  • the paste dialogue box
  • info about drag-drop
