Grid link doesn't show up in search

Submitted by jan_rifkinson on 2010/02/12 15:06
Beta 9.25 pre-18

Steps to Recreate
Add a link to grid
<CTRL>F Search  link
<a is all that shows up

I know this was / is a problem reported elsewhere but this fix should have some priority IMHO
One of the most useful things I'm finding is the ability to create links in grid
But if you can't find it, what's the use.
Pierre?

Thank you.

items don't stay after

Submitted by jsolka on 2010/02/12 07:47
Items after moving (by which I mostly mean changing their position in terms of level, but I think also it applies to moving subitems up & down) don't stay, which means that upon refreshing/closing& reopening, etc, they go back to their original position. Tried repair -- didn't work.

Thanks,
Jay

PS -- just to make sure -- if I go back to prerel 13 there shouldn't be any problems (I don't use calendar)

Update: I tried prerel 13 (prerel 16 behaved like prerel 13)-- changing level worked, the items stayed, but moving them up and down (I'm not talking about top-level items) didn't -- they would go back to their original position.  Is there any quick fix for it, please, big problem for me. BTW sorting by column doesn't seem to work either.

Neat auxiliary program for IQ (Stickies)

Submitted by KeithB on 2010/02/11 19:10
I've been successfully using a great freeware program recently in conjunction with IQ.

This program "Stickies" is quite useful for me for jotting down my quick things I want to do in a single IQ session, and avoid filling up the inbox further.
The note is setup to only show when IQ is running, and it minimizes when IQ is minimized.

grid display after drag/drop

Submitted by jan_rifkinson on 2010/02/11 15:37
Situation  beta 9.25 pre 18

Grid Y:
Jan Rifkinson (TLI)
  child 1
  child 2
    grandchild A
    grandchild B

<CTRL><drag/drop> from Grid X (only TLI displayed) to Grid Y drop on "Jan Rifkinson"
item i
item ii
Item iii

Display in Grid X is sort of hoisted to reveal only:
Grid Y
Jan Rifkinson (TLI)
  item i
  item ii
  item iii

If user refreshes display all Jan Rifkinson children / grandchildren are revealed as seen below:

Grid Y:
Jan Rifkinson (TLI)
  child 1

  item iii
  child 2

performance in regard to filtering,&hoisting

Submitted by jsolka on 2010/02/11 12:34
I'm not sure whether this wasn't mentioned before, so I just put in suggestions:
1. While hoisting: to hoist an item or to hoist searched items is really fast, but to "unhoist" them takes really long, and also the way the grid is displayed changes (in terms of levels shown, at least).
2. Same thing is happening while filtering. As I filter for colors it takes a long time to "unfilter". And also, sometime the things are not the same. Another thing. When I moved and item and changed its level, then I couldn't fix its position in "filtered" mode. It would be always the last, for instance. When I have a lot of items I may miss something when it doesn't appear when I think I put it last. Those are just the things that I'd like at some point to be improved.
Much obliged,
Jay

Wrong (sub)-item being moved if a sibling is selected

Submitted by Tom on 2010/02/11 05:54
Dual pane

[edit 2010-03-17 18:53GMT]  -  a better & clearer description belowwww.sqlnotes.net/drupal5/index.php  [/edit]

[edit 2010-02-11 18:21GMT] the problem seems to be only with items with links to files [/edit]

Select a sub-item (one that has siblings please, say Child1 in the example below)

Parent
Child1
Child2
Child3

Now click (and hold) in the text of one of the siblings, say Child3, & drag it to the opposite pane so it becomes a child of an item there.

Drag:
Child1 is moved instead

<SOLVED>Problem with hierarchical calculations (IMPORTANT)

Submitted by Armando on 2010/02/11 01:05
Version 0.9.25Pre-Rel18

I haven't done extensive testing, but from what I've seen, Hierarchical equations have priority over row equations. Am I wrong ?

This is fine in most cases, except when sub items are non existent or don't meet the hierarchical equation's conditions (i.e. : the user uses some conditions in the hierarc.equation to filter items out from the equation) . When sub items are non existent or don't meet the hierarchical equation condition, the result will always be null, and recalc will never always result as a null -- at least, that's what seems to happen here.

Could this be changed so that when there are no items available to calculate the equation/function, row equations have priority ?

I haven't thought of all the implications of such a change though... (But thought of suggesting before I forget.... since it's time to sleep...)

What will happen to the "double click --> show all" feature when user chooses the Ecco way ?

Submitted by Armando on 2010/02/10 23:37
One not that well known feature is that double clicking on a bullet of an item-parent will show ALL its sub-items (it will activate the "Show All sub-items" feature, extremely useful when one wants to circumvent filter restrictions and see all subs). Super convenient IMO.

But with Ecco's "double clicking to show subs" new option, this will likely disappear, which is too bad. Are there any plans to make that feature available to "Ecco users" ?

After 0.9.25PreRel13: URL containing a parameter of "RecordId=" behaves differently between the HTML pane and the grid

Submitted by KenG on 2010/02/10 21:51

I have some URL links that have "RecordId=xx" as an argument.

Behavior in 0.9.25PreRel14 through PreRel18:
When in the grid pane, these links behave as expected by opening up my default browser and displaying the web page.
When in the HTML pane, these same links bring up the Scratch pad with "IDItem IN (xx)" as the source.
