Disappearing Cursor - Help!

Submitted by David_H on 2017/05/29 15:51
I'm looking for input from other users and hope Pierre does not respond until off vacation.  A month or so ago there were some discussions where a few of us were experiencing the disappearing cursor issue again, where when clicking to edit a grid item the cursor is invisible, and you can't tell where it is until you start to type.  I can't find that thread though I did find the threads at the bottom here where it had been discussed in the past, for a very long time I'd had no issues and thought an update addressed it.

It's now happening to me on both PC's I run IQ on, one running Win 7 and one Win 10.  Is anyone else still experiencing this?

wysiwyg editor - option for default height of wysiwyg editor box?

Submitted by jimspoon on 2017/05/25 12:42
In lieu of an "auto-expanding" wysiwyg editor box, it would be good at least to be able to specify a default height for the edit box, say 3 or 4 lines.  I find myself automatically pressing Alt+Down a few times, just to have some room to work.  Would be nice not to have to do that.

[minor] Colors gone

Submitted by Tom on 2017/05/19 10:42
This for the record:

Today I opened an older file that I use only occasionally:
all colour highlighting was gone.
Closed the file (to update IQ from 97 to 97a), opened it again, and got this error message (didnt notice an error message from 97, but may have pressed return on it without thinking/noticing):
---------------------------
InfoQube
---------------------------
Error loading colors specific to this IQBase. Use Tools>>Options to set these again. (You can open a backup file to retrieve the item color settings)
---------------------------
OK

calendar bug

If I select an item and execute "Show in calendar," set the appointment details as an all-day event, the calendar date is one day after the date I selected in the form.

Color Code Parent Item Based on Child Items?

Submitted by David_H on 2017/05/18 17:42
Would it be possible to set up a condition so that:
- If ALL child items all levels deep are formatted green, automatically format the parent item green?
- If ANY child item, no mater how many levels deep are formatted red, automatically format the parent item red?

Alternatively a check mark field tied to the parent item that gets selected if ANY child item has a certain status/es would work.

Thanks

Request for undo

Submitted by WayneK on 2017/05/12 17:57
I know this has been discussed multiple times but I don't think it's been implemented yet.  I needed to reverse a cut/paste operation but was unable to do so, and lost all the cells I'd just cut (50+ cells of text).

I thought I'd lost a big chunk of work but I think I've recovered it using the back up but I'm still not sure and it was a lot less convenient than just "undoing".

I was in the process of cut/copying text from one column to another.  It was tedious so I started adding more on more cells to each operation.  In every case, it was pasting the cut cells as intended.  But then I got the paste dialogue which would have created extra rows I didn't want.  Without thinking, I canceled out of the paste operation, and in so doing, lost all the cells I'd just cut.

Side issue: if anyone knows a better way to transfer thousands of cells of text from one column to anoth

Sortbar acting erratically

Submitted by Tom on 2017/05/12 05:55
Anyone else having trouble with the sortbar?

Sortbar with three fields on it:
press (e.g.) the first one a couple of times (to change from ascending to descending):
  1. often this has no effect
  2. the fields' sequence often changes, the first one jumping to the last place
also,
highlighting is erratic:
sometimes one is highlighted, sometimes another (although there may be a logic here I've missed)

Unfortunately unable to reproduce this in sample file with data (but didnt spend long trying).

Image below from my file -- note in this image, the focus is on 'Item created' in sortbar above the left pane, it wasnt working:
after AltTabbing away and back, it did work, but then jumped to last place on the list.

Problems Creating Multiple items via Paste from HTML pane

Submitted by Tom on 2017/05/11 06:18
Unexpected results pasting multiple lines into selected cell, selecting option #2 in the paste dialogue (create new items):

1) plain text, with a couple of paragraphs, that has been pasted into the HTML pane: option 'Text' was selected in the paste as dialogue
=> copy text from HTML pane,
this pastes into a single selected cell (not in edit mode) with no paste dialogue shown.
