Can't remove background color in Doc Pane

I highlight some text in the Doc Pane by using background color.
However, I am then not able to remove it. Selecting the text and "none" doesn't work.

Is there maybe some other way of removing the background color?

p.s. I can remove the background color of text in a regular item by selecting the text and "none".

Locking tab positions

Tabs should maintain their positions until manually moved, but they don't.  They periodically move on their own, often 1-3 positions.

I know I posted on this a few years ago and Pierre said he would look into it.  I can't remember seeing a follow up and can't find the original thread.

This might be one of those grid things outside of Pierre's control.

Bug when marking items as not Done

When I have a grid containing items some of which I had marked as Done, and then I click Ctrl-M and indicate that I want to mark them as undone, the items are indeed marked as undone, but their background color is changed to black, so the text cannot be read at all until I completely remove the background color - please fix!

Thanks!

Hyperlink With Filter Error

In a grid I can use a source filter DueDate > now without any issues.
However, I have a problem when trying to create hyperlink to the grid with this filter

The item and Hyperlink text is "All_B" and the Grid name is All_B
I add the link as
All_B|DueDate>now

After I click on OK, the displayed item text changes to
now>0"All-B and when I open the Hyperlink window, it shows

All_B|DueDate for the link but still All_B for the Hyperlink text

It seems that the ">" is interpreted in some strange way?

doc pane - open, save web page internal / external htm/mht

Submitted by jimspoon on 2024/03/14 23:17

I made a test item, opened a doc pane.  In the doc pane, did Menu > File > Open > Open Web Page.  Pasted a URL, in this case, just as an example, "https://www.voidtools.com/".  The page loaded in the doc pane.  (Having trouble getting some other pages to load, but this one did.)  The URL appears in the field ItemHTMLFile.

attach doc pane to current tab or main ui - not grasping this

When I select View > Document > New Document Pane, I get the dialog that asks me if I want to attach the Doc Pane to the Current Tab or the Main UI.  I'm having trouble understanding this concept, or how it is helpful.  I could understand wanting to be able to have two doc panes open, each viewing the doc content for two different items.  So in that case you'd want to lock a doc pane to a particular item, not to a particular workspace tab, or so it seems to me.

Changing the source of a grid

I must be overlooking something very simple, but I can't manage to change the "source" of a grid in the Manage Grids dialogue. I can change the name of the grid and other properties of the grid, but when I change the source of the grid, the change is cancelled as soon as I leave the "Manage Grids" dialogue.   I tried on different grids, in different databases including a fresh new one, and even in a somewhat earlier version of IQ.

I can create a new grid via  the "New Grid" dialogue, but when doing this, one can only use the name of a field, not a more complex source.

reciprocal fields

Just getting started with Related Items.  Just as an example, I have a grid listing my flash memory cards, and other grids showing lists of devices in which the cards can be installed.  In my grid of flash memory cards, I'd like to be able to see the device in which each card is installed; and in my grids containing lists of devices, I'd like to be able to see the flash memory card it has installed.  Ideally, the Flash Memory Cards grid would have an "Installed In" column, and the Device Grids would have an "Installed Memory Card" column, but it would be reciprocal, e.g.

related items link goes nowhere

I made Related Items links for many different items using the Ctrl+R Related Items dialog.  In that dialog, I used the Grid dropdown to specify the Grid to be searched, entered a search string in the search box, then clicked the checkbox for the item to be linked to.  The Related Items links were created and appeared in each item's Related Items section in the Properties Pane.  But then I discovered that for some of these links, clicking the link had no effect.  Right-clicking the Item and then clicking "Show Item" had no effect.  I found that this happened when the item shown in the Relate
