down arrow won't work at bottom of grid

Submitted by jimspoon on 2015/10/18 23:11
If I am entering text in an item in the bottom of the grid, pressing the down arrow will not advance to the next line - even if there is a blank item there (previously created by pressing enter key multiple times at the bottom of grid).

I suspect this is another "grid supplier" bug but I don't know if you were aware of it.

Instead of pressing the down arrow, I have to press the enter key.  That's one way to get past the last line in the grid.

Any way to search / replace across multiple HTML panes?

Submitted by WayneK on 2015/10/18 19:29
I couldn't find anything in the help file on this.  I've misspelled the same name in the HTML pane for over 50 items.  It looks like search only works on grid columns or within a single HTML pane.  Is there no way to do a search and replace for a word across multiple HTML panes?

Any tips on entering large amounts of text?

Submitted by WayneK on 2015/10/17 18:48
I've mentioned that I'm in the process of entering a large amount of historical research into InfoQube.  Right now I'm doing a simple copy/paste from the source into IQ text fields.  I'm finding the process extremely slow and labor-intensive.  Maybe someone here has some advice on how to speed up the process.  Even a small improvement would be a big help over the long haul.

One thing that's making things so slow is that I'm breaking up the text by topic to give me maximum flexibility in sorting and filtering the information.  This means I'm typically copying only a few sentences or maybe a paragraph at a time.  I can't just copy pages at a time and paste it in one step.

It did occur to me just now that it might be faster to enter a big block of text then split it inside IQ.  I haven't looked it up yet but I'm guessing IQ has a "split item" function like Ecco Pro.  That would at

Calendar Question

does anybody know -

How to concurrently display named days of the week (Mon/Tues/etc) and calendar events in the New Calendar.  The Main Calendar (not the mini calendars) current default displays events but not named days.  By means of "Show Time Scale" named days of the week appear but events disappear.  Or is that concurrent display ability not functional yet?  Numerical date does always display.

InfoQube window sticks in maximized position

Submitted by WayneK on 2015/10/16 20:00
This started on the last release.  I don't normally work on any program maximized to full screen but I've found that if I do this with InfoQube, it takes over the whole screen and prevents from minimizing the window after that point because the windows symbols in the upper right are gone.

Often it further takes over the screen by wiping out my taskbar on the right side.  The only remedy is to close the program.  When I re-start it, sometimes it comes up maximized again and I have to re-start it again.  Finally, it will come up as a partial window, and I can continue working.

I've tested all my other open programs and none are doing this.  I've attached a screenshot of the maximized window.  Note that in the upper right the three symbols are missing for "minimize", "maximize" and "close".

Not a big deal, I guess.  I just have to remember

Version 0.9.26Pre-Rel59 is now available !

Hi IQ Users,

In this release (v0.9.26PreRel59) :
  • New: WikiTag field now has a multi-select editor. Similar to the one in the New Item dialog. To enable it, simply set its editor to Auto-list of values (in Field Properties > Editor). This will eventually be implemented for other text fields too.
  • New: Grid: Grid Filter (Ctrl+G): New Filter dialog. Adds supports for keywords (All or Any) and wildcards

Copy paste problem for Simple cell content

Submitted by Armando on 2015/10/16 12:46
Copying cell content in IQ seems less easy and intuitive.

Here's the result of copying and pasting the content of a date field (Focus is on the field in the grid, and I press Ctrl+C):

FollowUpDate
------------
2015-10-20 06:00:00

And when I do the same with the item field, the  format is lost (no more bold, italic, etc) when  pasted back in another cell.

[FIXED] Database Error

Submitted by WayneK on 2015/10/15 21:34
I need help.  I'm getting a database error at the lower right: "Attempting to view item xxx but this item is no longer in the IQ database.  Please do a repair or return to a previous version of this IQ base."  Right now it looks like everything I've put into the HTML panes is gone.

I've spent the past 6 hours putting info into IQ.  What should I do next to minimize the risk of data loss?

Thanks, Wayne
