Is it possible to populate ItemHomeGrid at item creation?

Submitted by ethanrox on 2016/04/21 18:39

Background to my question:

Sometimes I need a grid without Source, just using the Filter Box (selection of items based on multiple criteria).

However it would be nice if I can add items to this grid describing what's happening with the grid which stay there after refresh.
Since the Source is empty, I cannot use the auto-assignment of field to TLI. What I have done is create a field with the exact name of the Grid to be used in the Filter criteria. The field is in the grid as well, and currently I have to check it every time I create an item to ensure it stays there. This is not that bad, but then again we have the field ItemHomeGrid.

v74a Editor - List of items pop-up Option does not filter based on field properly

In the video I managed to reproduce a relatively "logical" behavior, i.e. the items from the same grid getting into the list of pop-up items even without having the required Yes/No field.

Other times the populated list just seems random.

Can I access info on related parent items and their level of indentation?

Hi Pierre,

I have a "ToDo" grid where all items tagged with "todo" are shown as a flat list.

Now, with 50-200 todos I would like to see at a glance which 1st, 2nd and 3rd level items the todos relate to.

Is there a way I could set up a field (e.g. called "1st level") which is automatically filled with the 1st level parent of the shown item?

Right now I am using a workaround: In all my grids, I have a field column called "Grid", a field column called "1st level" and a field column called "project" which basically means 2nd level.

level-dependent formatting?

Hi Pierre,

sorry if I missed it in the documentation, but is there any way of automatically formatting all items depending on their level of indentation?

In order to have more overview in a grid, I would like to tell IQ that all 1st level items are Arial Bold, all 2nd level items are Arial Italic with smaller size, all 3rd level items smaller font size, etc.

Is that already possible?

If not, could you make it possible?

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards
Thorsten

Group items by sort column bug: IQ looses previous config of "Group item by sort column"

Submitted by Armando on 2016/04/20 20:58
IQ will loose the previous config of "Group item by sort column" in a specific grid when:

1- "Group items by sort column" is first used. (Grid then saved or whatever.)
2- Then change the sort type to  *source items sort*
3- Finally Use column filters to filter the grid on one column

After doing that, going back to the "Group item by sort column" : previous sort set up is reset to nothing.

Can anybody confirm ? thanks

Properties pane : doesn't refresh properly (74a)

1- use brand new install
2- open IQ, with sample DB
3- go from item to item, properties pane doesn't refresh.

I just noticed it since I just (re)installed 74a -- was on 73c. (Having the properties pane on autohide makes things a little better since it'll refresh each time it reappears.)

Can anybody confirm ? Thanks
