The Status Bar is shown at the bottom of the InfoQube's main window. Use View > Status Bar to show / hide it.
It is divided into 9 sections (from left to right)
- Lineage and other "status-type" information (non-intrusive messages)
- Higher importance messages (shown with a bright yellow background)
- Timers. See Using Timers below for details
- Google Calendar Sync button and status: Click on the icon to start a manual sync with your Google calendars. All enabled calendars will sync
- EmailToIQ button and status. Details here
- Arrow keys behavior when editing in grids: When ON, arrow keys will never terminate editing. When OFF, editing will end when the cursor reaches a boundary
- Overtype mode: Details here
- Current Date
- Current Time
Section 1 is the widest section on the Status Bar. It is used to show a large number of messages and status, depending on the view, such as:
- Event information when in the Calendar
- Item lineage in other views (see details below)
- The number of selected items in Grids
- Zoom changes
- Countless other bits of information !
Section 2 is bright yellow:
(not shown in the above screen shot)
This section shows messages of higher importance than section 1.
It is also possible to cancel some operation by double-clicking on this section, such as:
- Cancel or postpone recalculation of fields which are date dependent (as this can be lengthy for large databases)
1. Showing Item Lineage and Related Items
The Status Bar can show the current item's Related items and lineage (i.e. the item parent, grand-parent, etc.)
Each item is shown as a hyperlink. Click on the hyperlink to instantly go to that item.
There are 6 display modes. To change mode, double-click on the section:
- None: Lineage is not shown
- Related Items: List items related to the selected item or items. Details here
- Parent -> Child: Starting from the item, the main parents tree is shown, from right to left
- Child -> Parent: Same as the above, but in reverse order. To ease navigation, the item itself is not shown
- As viewed: Shows the parent tree as displayed in the grid. This may be different than (2.) above when:
- Context Parent display is turned off or set to just a few levels. Details here
- Grid is hoisted
- Grid display mode is not set to Normal (i.e. set to Flat or Tree views)
- Items have multiple parents. The parent shown in the grid may not be the main parent
- Inverse view: Same as the above, but in reverse order. To ease navigation, the item itself is not shown
Hint: Double-click cycles through the above modes (1 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 > 6). Press Shift while double-click will cycle in the reverse direction
